Hey Racers,
I just bought GT5 Prologue for my collection and I was wondering about some things.
Why GT5P has the sound of wind in the bumperview and GT5 not?
Why GT5P has the sound of dirt or gravel if you go offroad and GT5 not?

I miss these two things in GT5, they make the driving experience more real...

The graphics in GT5P does look good, but what did PD in the years between GT5P and the final release of GT5?

GT5:
What is the carwash for? I can´t see any dirt or something on my car, so why should I wash it?
If the dirt and scratches would stay on the car, the carwash would be usefull, but without that I can´t see the need of the carwash...

Thank you

Cars DO get dirty during long races... unfortunately they always look clean in the garage.

My first car in GT5 was a white Civic, it hasn't been washed and has done thousands of miles in the hands of myself and Teh Bobz.

It's still sparkling :D

How I miss those pre-tuned cars from GT5P...
They were awesome!!

Probably couldn't get 16 car online to work with that level of detail on the shadows

Though it lacked content there was something better about the experience in GT5P. The graphics look richer in the example for GT5P. But I think the physics were more unpredictable in GT5P because I can recall cars snapping around more easily. The feedback to the driver is better in GT5. But I do hate the cluttered visuals.

Cars were easier to drive from inside in GT5P

GT5P was a finished product, GT5 feels phoned in, like a school kid that forgot to do his science project and does the day befoe its due

Also there was more affordable cars and no leveling system in GT5P so there was no boring grinding of the same race over and over again.

How can you say GT5P was a finished product? It's nothing more than a prequel!

Prologue had leaderboards, a feature that keeps most racing games alive. This is a must feature for all racing games and why all racing games have full leaderboards today (one exception).:grumpy:

The leaderboards are a big miss in my opinion as this is one of the main features that keep customers coming back, there is no better feeling than being number one on a track, or seeing your own improvement.

It's amazing to me how hard people try to find unfair comparisons about GT5.

For all its faults, GT5 looks better than GT5P. The aliasing especially.

However, the car wash is a valid complaint. In GT4, didn't cars actually get dirty, and would be slightly less aerodynamic if you didn't wash them once in a while? This is not in GT5 yet. I bet it's a future update.

I do agree about the bumper wind sound. That's interesting.

But still, if you can't see the improvement from GT5P to GT5, consider an optometrist.

They took out practice runs that were located next to the "Race" button. I liked that, then you could practice along with the AI. As far as I remember it.

Cars definitely do get dirty in this game. Maybe it doesn't show up in the garage, but they for sure can pickup dirt. Try running the Indy 500 in a light colored car. I used the CLK GTR and it was almost black by the time the race was over. Whether there is a noticeable performance effect or not though, I can't be sure.

There were 16 people online races in GT5P too, seems like you missed something.

I really liked GT5P, GT5 (eventhough it makes tons of fun with the right cars and friends) feels like a beta compared to that game.

The only bad thing were the overpowered Clios... Anything below 700PP was inbalanced.

Incredible how PD ruined the sound engine. In GT5P the windnoise was perfect, in GT5 you only hear the gear whine from the race transmission.

Prologue seemed focussed. It was a racing simulator. It had leaderboards and online matchmaking. It was so good (for being only a prologue) that it led to stratospheric expectations for GT5. In many ways the full game fell short of these expectations.

The full game has more cars but less focus.
