GT5 would benefit greatly using a performance indicator

As it stands right now, horsepower alone does not show the matchup. By just putting on sport tires, I find myself taking down the AI, which has a 30hp advantage, with ease in the early races.

Some sort of indicator, perhaps like Forza implemented, would go a long way in showing how the field matches up.

Prologue had Performance Points. Many people were glad to see them go though.

Needs a Performance Index. One of my biggest issues with the game.

Got a souped up scuderia (608bhp) and in every arcade race it'll match me with an entire field of white Citroen GT concepts...

Performance Points are essential for online races as well as a "race-builder" for offline. Makes me wonder why it's gone, especially since it has been seen in the build used for the TT Academy Finals. This would be exactly what is done in the real world to create a "balance of power" in FIA GT races.

Actually, that's what I was hoping for the most, that I could customize my own offline races, i.e. decide either based on PPs, or hand-pick my opponent's cars. Would be insanely easy to build (just randomly chosen cars for the AI that are close to the maximum set PP), and yet...no trace of it in the game.

The way it is now, if you choose a car with lower performance, the opponent's cars get worse, too. You have no way of leveling the opponents. Even in GT5P you had a slider from 0-100 to make your opponents better or worse.

Hmmm honestly I don't care much... as a real car nut I know what is good or what is bad... so, its kinda easy to find a match.

Along the same lines, does the AI upgrade their cars at all, or are they always running stock?
