I was fortunate enough to win a copy of GT5 a day before it came out two years ago (albeit it came with no Stealth Cars or Chrome Line cars :ouch:).

I'm not sure if I should buy the GT5 XL Edition just for the DLC. Will it be cheaper to just buy the DLC itself or should I purchase the XL Edition? Also, will I have to start over my game or will it keep the same save?

All answers appreciated. :)

After you get the DLC costs out of the way, the difference in cost is $5.

Basically, is it worth $5 to have a copy of the game that already has most of the updates installed and be played and enjoyed quite a bit out of the box?

Buying the XL Edition would be cheaper, but the XL Edition doesn't have all the DLC that are available in the PS Store. If you really want the best bang for your buck, buy the Academy Edition instead. You get the GT5 full game, plus a voucher that allows you to download all the DLC available at the PS Store.

No, you won't need to start over. The disc included in either XL Edition or Academy Edition is basically just the same as the first release, but those two already include the latest updates and patches from the time of their release (Academy Edition being the more up-to-date, of course ;))

I already have the XL edition. Do I need to get the academy edition? The XL edition has voucher for DLCs. Will that voucher work for all the DLCs that are released after XL edition?
