So I'm having an issue getting my TV settings correct for this game. If I get them close to what I want while driving, I exit to the menu to find it colorless and too bright.

Anyone want to share their TV settings that I could try? My TV is a Panasonic Viera TC-L42D2 (42") LED LCD.

Have you used any calibration tools or utilities before on your TV, or does your TV, store the picture/audio settings independently per input?

And your LED TV, is it a full-array or edge-lit set?
Are you using an HDMI setup coming from you PS3, going through a receiver, and into your TV?

What I suggest, is that if you ARE running any type of HDMI setup from your PS3-out, ensure that you have the full-RGB HDMI setting turned ON, on your PS3, as well as the other full-color array options turned to ON, on your PS3. I noticed that playing with a few of the embedded PS3 video/display options on the XMB, I finally corrected some of the little things that bugged me about my picture/display, also :)

Just remember (or write down) the video/display settings on both your TV and PS3, and then start fluctuating with different combinations of settings, or changing things here or there, and go from there!

Good luck man!

(ps, check out AVS forums online and there are a TON of threads/topics on LCD/LED tv and PS3 display setup options/combinations.. That'll help too dude!)

Thanks, this helped a little. I still find that the colors are too bright, greens way too green, etc. I can tone it down by reducing the color, but then all the menus get really dull.

Unfortunately almost any help would have to come from someone wth your (or very similar) model.

I would suggest searching avsforum, you might find calibration help there.

My plasma has a THX setting. I just leave it on that for everything. I would also suggest avsforum.

I have a Panasonic 50" P-50S1 plasma. Unfortunately, the lower Panasonics are known for being a bit too saturated when it comes to the greens. As far as the darkness is concerned, the only thing that bothers me is that I cant read the gauges in cockpit mode (no backlight?). Other than that, I havent noticed a darkness issue. I use the Vivid mode with default settings.

I usually try to just use the exposure setting when switching games. +/- 2-4 is usually pretty good to get a good, and realistic, picture.

My contrast is usually at like 70 percent

^^^ Items in Bold are what I changed from the above settings. Everything definitely looks better. In the GT5 Options menu for Display hardware I set it to Increase sharpness, and since the "HD Size 2" thing from above shrank the picture, I re-enlarged it in the GT5 settings to 100%.

Thanks for the help guys. 👍
