So with Xbox one looking limited I thought I'd try a ps3. Then get a ps4 if I like gt5 as I mainly play forza on Xbox. I bought a ps3 and gt5 it came today and I'm shocked.

I have some really crappy music on lol is there a way to turn it off?
The graphics are shockin the YouTube videos looked a lot better!

It looks like an arcade game, the menu is hard to use it's very indeph and not very helpful.
I'm surprised this game is ment to be forza a rival!?

The driving is ok I guess but it would help if the menus had more of an explantion. I tried an online race and it just seems complicated.

And how do I tune a car?

GT5 = Arcade. Right then. What does that make the Forza physics?

A.1 From options where you can adjust controls etc...
A.1.1 If I remember right you can adjust menu bgm also from gt home screen.

Q.2 The driving is ok I guess but it would help if the menus had more of an explantion.
A.2 It doesn't do harm if you try all menus.

What was complicated? If I guess right you just do things complicated for yourself..

Look I said the graphics as in the cars look arcade that's not fiction it's a fact.
The driving is good. I did look in the menus to turn music off but can't find it that's why I asked.
So if anyone can be spesific it would be nice. The seething menu I get has arcade settings, race display ect no sound options that I can see.


Also I know how to tune a car as in what to set springs at ect but how do I actually get the tuning menu up?

As for racing online how do I know what car to use ect there's no explanation all I see is names of lobbies and the sort of race.

And what's with the zoom in menu everything is a bit blurry unless I zoom in lol isn't there a way to fix this so I can just see everything clear

The Standard cars look arcade... drive some Premiums 💡 Standards are PS2-quality cars carried over from GT4. Premiums are fully-modelled HD masterpieces.

Online, there is an open lobby system where you can start or choose an individual lobby... you can name them to, say, "Pro drifting" or something. Gameplay-wise, there are no restrictions unless the host sets them e.g. NASCAR cars, WRC cars, 500 Performance Point (this is like Forza's PI) limit etc.

You seem pretty clueless, must be the way Forza dumbs down it's users. I guess it is more aimed towards younger kids.
 
Try the little gear in the botton left corner, brings up all the option menus, at the bottom is the overall game options, click it and you'll find a lot more menus.

As far as your rant, get to know a game and a system before complaining about it.

Edit.

Tuning menu is in the pre race screen, click the wrench.

We all have that problem online. Try to interpert the titles, also the little pop up will display HP,PP and other little things if you hover over it.

The way I got rid of the zoom in menus and bad driving view was get a wide screen TV.

I'm pretty sure a lot of the stuff you are complaining about you were warned about before you bought the PS3 and GT5. And most of the rest of it is laid out in the manual and the in game help screen.

Did you do the updates?

Are you running HDMI?

If your answer to both or even one of these is no, that is why it may appear crappy..

If your answer to both of these is yes, and your PS3 is set to at least 1080i .. Then I'm not sure what your deal is.. I've owned both and Forza by far looks more arcade-like then GT5..
 
GT5 is a pretty complex 'all-over-the-place' title. As someone who plays both Forza4 and GT5 intensively, you just have to learn to adapt to the way GT5 is laid out. The menus are not simple like Forza(Not taking a pop at Forza), they are a bit, eh, haphazard. Just take a while to learn the way the game is - Take it from there and hopefully you will find some enjoyment. 👍
 
Another thing; please don't blindly go into an online room expecting a race. For example, the majority of lobbies on Indy Road Course are for make-do drag racing (there is no dedicated mode); Tsukuba is usually for drifting free-for-alls; Circuit de la Sarthe and Special Stages 7 & X are for the speed freaks; and join TopGear Test Track lobbies for demolition derbies and "Saudi drift", whatever that is.

I've got a 60 inch gd tv and I've had it longer than 2013. If I can just buy a ps3 and a few games just to try out gt5 I think I can afford an hd tv.

Thanks for pointing out the tuning menu tho.

As someone said forza menus are very helpful and simple they make them easy to navigate so that even a first time player can see where everything.

Well atleast I can tune a car now!
