Hello all,

May look like I'm a newbie here, but my old account from 2009 has had some issues so just made a new one.👍

So just wondering, anyone interested in a semi-pro style with Super GT500 cars? What I mean by that is those of us who are developing and would like some more serious racing than the casual lobby gamers. There probably are a few series out there already, but with this one I'm thinking KISS (keep it simple stupid); Clean races, ALL tuning and aids (abs opt.) prohibited (tyre choice free) and dry races. No ballast etc. As far as I gather there are 12 different GT500 cars available from the respective manufacturers Honda, Lexus and Nissan. So this mean we would have 12 competitors. Races would aim to be 20-40 minutes long. (10-15 laps-ish..) To make it a fun sprint-style, with no pit stops to make it a true drivers challenge. May even do a dual-race setup with reverse grid for the added fun.

Being based in Europe, races would be run in a GMT +1 timezone. Sunday sometime.

My target group for this series would be those of us who can't practice for weeks before each race, and go through qualifiers months before. It's going to be a series with a competitive level yes (I hope), so bumper-carters aren't really welcome. Those of us who appreciate a clean and challenging race however, are. Sign-up wise it's going to be a simple setup. I.e. you don't have to sign up for the whole season, you can do a race-by-race basis. This means that people can race at the tracks they want to. However sign-ups for all races will be open from day one. Of course season points will be counted, with all races counting.

Car choice will be first come first. Simple, you request having a car first, you get it first. All spreadsheets and forms will be done by me via Google Docs.

Depending on the amount of interested people, we would either have no pre-qualifying at all or a simple set of events. Everyone uses the same car (blue Nissan) gets a roll call to a room, goes to race, does a grid start, waits 20 seconds between each, then does a total of 5 laps, best lap counts. But now I'm getting way ahead of myself. There will be a minimum of 2 stewards per race (i.e. observers) replays will be saved, so that any post-race complaints can be reviewed.

Summary:

-12 competitors GT500
-Tuning prohibited (i.e "production" term. Cars must be dealer standard)
-No aids (ABS 1)
-No ballast for winners
-Sign-up race by race basis (no season binding)
-Every fortnight or third Sunday GMT +1
-10-15 laps
-No pitstops
-Open to any driver of any level/skill/member-status as long as GT500 cars are available to them.
-Pure driver skill will define the series, as cars remain standard throughout except tire choice.
-Multiple stewards will be at hand to evaluate all race incidents throughout the season

Circuits visited will be (not in order of appearance and open for debate):
-Suzuka
-Nurgburgring GP
-Spa
-Monza
-Fuji GT
-Indy Road Course
-Circuit de La Sarthe 2009
-Laguna Seca

Think that pretty much covers it for now!
