Has this happened to anybody else? I raced for several hours last night, amassing over 500k credits. When I tried to leave online mode, the game froze up. None of the buttons on the controller did anything. I had to re-start the PS3, and when I got back into the game, all of those credits were GONE! :ouch:

They need an autosave feature that saves your progress after every race - not just when you go all the way back to the main menu!

That's the closest I've ever come to smashing my PS3.

Nope never happened to me, why dont you put your gamesave on a usb so if it does happen you wont lose anything.

It's froze up on me several times recently. It froze on me right after I purchased a new vehicle. It's also froze when trying to access the online events. Mine wasn't near as bad as yours, I didn't lose anything because mine had already done the auto save.

It wasn't a question of where the data was saved. I was still in the session where I had won the cash. I hadn't backed out to the main menu in a while, and the game froze on it's way there. Your data isn't saved, apparently, until you back out to the main menu. So if you never get there for some reason, POOF go your credits!

Yeah i found out the hard way too. You have to go back to the main menu before Quitting the game, or any price money you won online is not saved.

just out of interest: Which model PS3, mounted horizontally or vertically, and what kind of airflow does it have?

My 40GB model sitting on its side with no shelf above it has not yet hung, and that's despite regularly leaving it on for hours in demo mode / racing.

60GB, on it's side, unobstructed and near the air conditioner. The only other problems that I've ever had with it were the normal glitches that I'm sure we've all had playing GT4 on it - namely, finishing a race and locking up on exit and losing the prize car and/or money.

That's particularly frustrating after an endurance race! I lost my New York 200 mile Charger Super Bee prize car that way. I downloaded a completed game save and bought that car out of it. Love those muscle cars...

had it happen to me aswell.60gig sitting flat in well ventilated room.only when i was online and had just finished a race.

Well, I just raced for an hour or so and got some of the money back. Every third race or so I backed out and saved.
I want to buy the Ferrari F1 car, and quite frankly, I don't even know why. :dunce:
