one thing that annoys me in GT5 is the sector timings, because of all this bumper bashing etc you find that the leader is miles ahead. i would rather know if no.3 is gaining or losing to no.2 then to know how much distance there is between no.2 and no.1. maybe it should state both like they do in F1 with a small grid that appears at the bottom of the screen, it could appear in the top right of the screen on GT for example:

no.1 - -2.25
no.2 - 0.00
no.3 - +1.78

if we get enough interest i will contact PD and hopefully they should put it in the next update/full game, the more we discuss this the more chance of it being in the next update/game. it sounds pretty simple to me and i don't think it would require alot of programming for this to happen

thanks in advance.

i was thinking about this yesterday when i was playing. It makes alot of sense but I wonder if PD will actually implement it.

I would definitely prefer this, as my Jag is rarely challenging 1st position, and I'd rather know how far 3rd place or whatever is behind me or how much I'm gaining on the position ahead of me.

I also believe that the more discussion about a detail within the game takes place the more PD will think about it.
(Is my english correct ? :-)

And i agree that it would be easy to implement for the developers and it should be very welcome for the most players.

The only thing which i think PD will be concerned about is the number and size of information which is displayed on the screen in the end.

Altogether there could be too much to display...

That wouldn't be a problem if you could adjust just how much overlay info you want like in rFactor or GTR2 for example. You could place that setting in the settings and in the Quick setup screens. I prefer a little as possible and only what's available in the real version of a particular racecar. When we're racing non-race versions of the cars you could then decide for yourself on how much you wanted on them screen at any given moment. All in the users hands. If you want to clutter the screen with stuff then it's up to you as a user.

Just my opinion.

When you put the info (Driver's name, position and time behind the driver in front) in a scrolling horizontal ticker, it shouldn't take too much room. And when it can be toggled on and off while racing, it would be just swell. :)

Nah, the initial idea is good from Zetec-ss. A ticker would just be annoying.

I'd love to see best lap times at the end of the race also.

i was thinking this too but it wouldn't be fair as alot of people are drafting, they could just have one super quick lap and the rest average.
