GT5P Update problem...

Ok so my cousin just installed a 320gb hdd into his ps3 and he put gt5p into the ps3 and copied the game onto the hard drive.

Now when the update for ONLINE comes up it gives him an error.

I'll get him to take a picture of what the error says...

But yeah its preventing him from going online and racing. It only lets him do the single player races...

Anyone know whats going on?

i really dont know.. the error shows right away?
if so it might be that the servers could be down

I received an error about three times - had to restart each time - but on the fourth it went through and downloaded all the way.

Just keep on trying; it'll download eventually.

I didn't realize you could do that. That may be part of the problem. What happens if the game is run off the disc?

The installation to the harddisk is mandatory in order to play the game, there is no other options. However, you will still need to load in the game disc everytime you want to play. This is with reference to the japanese GT5 Prologue blu-ray disc version.
