GT5XL not updating to 2.05

I am new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I bought GT5XL yesterday due to my original GT5 not updating to 2.01, but now i have the XL i tried updating to 2.05 and it would download but when installing it would stop and say an error has occurred, then when i try to start over the download i have to re install GT5 on my hard drive because the game data is corrupted.... I don't know what to do.... HELP

Ethernet cable and i have around 120 GB free on my hard drive

Make a backup of all of your game save data, and try these instructions - it basically reinstalls your PS3 as it was new - sounds like your file system is corrupted.
