Looks everyone thinks the AI needs improvement, but i have not seen a thread that states what specific improvements are needed or wanted. I heard something like "it should be similar to the AI in <game name>". But nothing specific.

Programming an AI would be tough, i have done programming myself but nothing close to programming an AI. I am assuming that each AI would be it's own program thread or process running whilst you are in a race.

I do not think there is a way out of programming a racing line on an AI, otherwise we would need to wait for the AI to "learn" each track, which would mean that they will end up with the same racing line. It would be great if the AI would have a preprogrammed multiple lines into a corner, so aside from a standard racing line it would have a couple of line for each corner, eg. an early apex, late apex, standard line. This way if there are other slower cars on his line the can choose another line.

Also the AI should be able to dodge other cars that unexpectedly show up on it's line, like in an accident.

It should also be able to slightly tweak it's line in the case that 2 cars are running side by side on a corner.

What do you guys think?
