I know the majority of people here on GTPlanet participate in racing series/events. When I go to join my friend's room, I usually take a look at all the public rooms that are up. All I see are, drift, cruise, cops 85mph (what ever that means) and drag. I might see a few rooms with PP or Super GT regulations. Which is probably why when me and my friends host a public room, the majority of the time no one joins. There will be times when a person or two joins we'll be sitting in the lobby messing around with our car settings. That person will sit there for five minutes and leave. When we do get a full room, most of the time people that join are terrible. There might be about two or three people that are actually good and can keep pace with us. It seems to me that this community is divided. The GTPlanet people that have racing series and the casuals that play this game.

Like everything on the net , random public lobbies can be hit / miss regarding racing/driving quality , because different people / different skills / different view on what is racing (fun-real) etc... . If you want some more or less constant racing experience I'd suggest you find 10+ like minded drivers that are more or less equal to your skills and good time will be guaranteed.

Don't only do your own lobbies (waiting for right people to join) , join some lobbies that are already populated (and possibly good) , watch other drivers , compare their times /driving skills and add them to you friend list for later .

Join WRS on GTP , or look for threads where people are seeking people to join races or do your own "looking for friends " thread here and sooner than later you'll have a bunch of people to play with .

PS: I don't have problem seeing 40+ lobbies almost anytime I've search for specific type of racing > race for real , race for fun , drift , freerun .... and there are always few lobbies with GT3/GT300/GT500 restriction and tons of lobbies with 500-550-650 street car limit . Only problem is that many of those street car lobbies don't restrict tires and I don't like driving street cars on RS tires , but other than that I don't see a shortage of lobbies in GT6.

There were tons of great lobbies in GT5, PD have really killed the online with GT6. Getting rid of Shuffle was another big mistake they made regarding this.

You do realize that 40+ lobbies in a game with 2 million + copies in circulation that's less than 6 months old is horrible right? When it comes to circuit racing in GT, if you aren't into racing slicks, it's awfully tough to find a room to race in. GT is a driving simulation in name only online. Online, it's mostly arcade racing.
