HI to all, everybody have heard about Paul Walker death and that gave me idea of dlc for GT6. 10 years ago important for me was only Gran Turismo and F&F films, so maybe as a tribute to the death of a good man who loved cars someone could start a project to bring cars from the series to the game.Eclipse,Supra,Charger R/T and so many more, what do you think?

I think that would be awesome...and to be more accurate, tuned in the same way (as shown in film at least) and with all the horrible vinyls:p. That was a sad day... esp for my wife(she liked him)

I'm going to have to disagree. These two things are far apart from each other. Makes no sense for PD to do such a thing.
How are they far apart in your opinion? Car is a car...thats obvious from vehicles like the lunar rover and motor carrage(GT4). The only difference is its from a movie. Just looking for your reasoning to help me understand.

EDIT: and a side note, that would get us a P supra mark IV;)
Is it because F&F is aimed at street racing?

The Fast and Furious series is one of Action/Thrillers and just uses modified cars as tools for the scenes of rediculous events (they could have used speed boats and still have been the same thing).

F&F is not about the cars. It's about what and how they use them in the films, which is on another planet compared to the GT series.

Fast & Furious and Gran Turismo are two HIGHLY unrelated cultures/experiences/products.

However, Need for Speed is 100% in F&Fs field of experience.

Makes sense....well maybe when the day comes that the people get their livery editor, they can make those cars then if they want. Love the last line BTW:)

Really don't think Kaz would go for honouring a series that glorifies underground street racing, especially after the major star of the series is killed in what will most likely turn out to be an accident related to driving too fast on crowded public roads.
Because the AE86 and the Initial D manga/anime/movie doesn't glorify illegal racing on public roads? Also, Smokey and the Bandit is mentioned in the '78 Trans Ams description, a movie which glorified a whole mess of illegal activities. I know i sound really negative and i appoligize if i come off that way but hey, why not glorify more movies? The Fast and the Furious is, without a doubt, one of the most loved car movies in cinema.

Just to add Need for Speed WAS 100% but now is more like 20%

Pretty sure that trans am was a '77...could be wrong though. I didnt think about Initial D good point.

EDIT: yep 77 According to everything Google lol. Regarless mentioned in the description
*wiki states they were actually '76 models modified to look like '77.

Well the movie version is a '77, the in game version is a '78 i believe. Not 100% on that. I would also like to see some Wangan Midnight replicas in. Also, as mentioned above, this possible dlc would give new and highly requested premiums. Including the supra, charger, maybe a jetta, an eclipse, a different honda civic (like we need more:rolleyes:) and lets throw in that ford pickup for variety!

Edit: and i believe the description says "made popular by the move Smokey and the Bandit" so maybe PD were talking about the Trans Am name itself and not the actual year/model?

Hey watch it!...I like civics, and own one. Its slow as **** though(70hp hybrid).

i'd love a wangan midnight DLC. 600+HP Midnight Blue 240Z

If PD would give us a DLC (like Pauls GT-R`s) where all profits go to the Reach Out, similar to what they are doing for the Ayrton Senna Foundation, I would support it!
Yes, GT and FnF don`t mix well, but I am 100% sure that both franchise wouldn`t be as succesful as they are today without each other! Also, anyone remembering the scene in FnF 1 where one guy was playing GT1 in his car before the race?^^

Kaz was a street racer himself, he wrote off an R32 GT-R in his 20s while street racing. Though to be honest most of the movies weren't about street racing, they were about driving off moving trains in fake corvette stingrays, and jumping infront of trains in dodge chargers, and jumping over bridges 20ft in the air and not damaging your car.

Fairytales!

why doesnt PD also do the james bond cars, the gone in sixty seconds cars, knight rider and highway man, and the voltron kitty cats?

Answer....That industry is different. Different goals. If they were to do so, they would be promoting an affiliation with crap unrealistic movies.....GT strives for realism.

Most of the cars in movies already have a standard version in the game. Why not paint em, modify em and try to match your favourite heros cars? You could do a tribute all by yourself if you desire.

Big difference between having something in the game with a casual mention in the description of a tie in to a movie and something more formal, like a DLC car pack prompted by the recent street racing death (good odds of it anyway at this point) of a movie star and his friend.

i still remember he used a GTO in the game lol

It's not as if we are glorifying the way he died though. It was a terrible accident and could have been avoided easily. It is honoring a man and what he was known for while living, not the way his life tragically ended. These movies did in fact open doors to people to see and enjoy vehicles on the big screen and have many wanting to actually race. Some did it illegal(public roads), some didn't(actual drag racing events). It's not like Paul was a full blown street racer in real life. Kaz himself admits to being some what of a street racer as young driver in fact and even crashed while doing so.

Edit: I don't approve of real street racing at all by the way. I really don't see the harm in honoring a man who influenced so many who now play Gran Turismo. He's no Senna by any means, but he was no doubt a car guy.

First, he wasn't driving. Second, it was an industrial complex on a weekend. I doubt there was another car within sight of the accident when it happened, let alone people.
Leave fast and the furious for the children on need for speed.

Worst 7 movies in car movie history.
Disagree.

They weren't street racing.

What he said^

Johnny, you normally do better than this, sounds like you haven't heard anything about his death.

Yeah, I live nearby, and this accident did not happen on a crowded public road. It was in a business park area on a Saturday afternoon. These are pretty empty roads for the most part that they've had issues with speeding in the past because they're empty and tend to meander a bit without adhering to a N-S/W-E grid whatsoever. Good (let's not debate the ethics of this now) for "spirited driving" if you don't overcook it and oversteer into a tree.

The first one was the best, because it was actually more about the cars and car culture.

Are we all ignoring that Paul Walker wasn't actually driving when he fatally crashed? Yes? Alrighty then,i'll just show myself out then.

I remember Gran Turismo 1 was shown twice in the first Fast and Furious movie. Once when the guy was playing it in his car before the race (as already mentioned), and once during a house party later in the movie.

Honestly, as much as I like them both... That's about all F&F and GT have in common.

PS. We need a new NFS underground.

Well I'm going to put my money on exceeding the speed limit and acting stupid...although we'll never know the second part will we?

I swear it was GT 2 and the guy was driving a supra.

You're right, Initial D wasn't about street racing and isn't feature in GT at all either........
