GT6 Not Working

So I bought GT6 the other day and I'm having install problems. It doesn't seem to make any progress during the install even after long periods of time waiting. I've tried installing it update by update and going into the game after each update but it still takes forever to install. I've tried loading the game without any updates offline but the loading after entering a name also goes on forever.

If anyone could help it would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

What happens when it gets stuck? Does it stay at the download or installation screen? No error messages?
 
Try deleting some data from your PS3.

It stays at the install screen, there isn't an estimated time or any error messages.
 
Save data utility on the home menu > Delete the data from games that you don't play anymore.
 
I believe you having the install problem in which there is a high chance of game installs failing when you download large chunks of updates at a time.

Delete your game data, then download your updates up to 1.07- then, quit the download process and let the game do it's little 'ninja install' thing. After that, you'll need to update one by one to reduce your chances of encountering the bug. After 1.12 (The update that brought Sierra), the problem no longer occurs, and you'll be free to update the rest of the updates as a large chunk.

It's time consuming, but it works.
 
I dug out my PS3 after being sat around for a year and I've hooked up my GT wheel and popped in GT6. It has 14 updates to so reading the above I'm not confident ! Have I missed much in 12 months ?
