1, How about an introduction?

Hi there, my name is Aiden Newman. I live for photography. I go out expecting to learn something new everyday. I specialise in motorsport and product photography, although I'm not just limited to that :).

2, What keeps you coming back to the GTP Photomode Forums?
The competition. As long as I can compete against quality photographs I see no reason to stop. I also like to share my photographs with everyone and see what they think.

3, What where you looking forward to the most before GT6 was released?
The Photomode, Pikes Peak Suzuki, and the Audi R18.

4, Of all the new cars in GT6, which one is your favourite and why?
This is a tough one.I'd have to say the Lotus 97T with the special Praiano tune. But the car I like to use all the time is the Zytek Nissan.

5, Which of the new locations is your favourite and why?
Willow Springs. For some reason it feels like our local racetrack, plus I won two quick match multiplayer games in a row.

6, Is there any feature, that isn't in the game, that you would have liked to see?
Body art customization, who wouldn't want to decorate they're cars.

7, What car, which isn't in the game, would you like to have included in GT6?
Our little red terror, the Mazda R100.

8, Could you share a location that you'd love to see added to GT6?
Some many to choose from, but I'd go with my home track Killarney International Raceway.

9, Could you talk us through one of your GT6 pictures from start to finish?
My latest one for 2.0 Week 91. Basically we had to photograph any British car, so I chose the Maclaren. I took it to the Nurburgring, being as carefull as possible as I went around. I basically skipped the entire replay up until the corner before the carousel. That is where I found the sweatspot, just after turning in under braking. I pulled the camera back and dropped it low, then zoomed in. I kept it on panning mode 3 and set the image resolution at x2 so I have the best detail when editing. Basically I try to capture the car in its element, and in this case its the F1 on the edge.

10, How about giving us a mini tutorial on any aspect of photographing in GT6?
Close Ups: Its immportant to have the right car, with the right colour, otherwise it will never work. Once you've got your car, do a quick scan around it until you find what you're looking for. Whether it's a body panel, mirrors, interior, lights, etc, make sure that there is enough detail and that the depth of field is not too narrow. That's the short version of it

11, Can you give us a mini tutorial on any aspect of editing?
Motion blur: Select the car in Photoshop, then select the inverse of that then make a copy of it as a layer. If you are dealing with side on car images, use motion blur. If the car is not side on, use Radial Blur. On the new layer, select the blur effect in Filter that befits the image and then see what happens. This is trial and error as this sometimes doesn't suit an image, but if you get it right then your image will look awesome.

12, What part of photography/editing do you need to improve on and why?
I don't have any trouble with anything, maybe adding a reflective surface to the road. Reason: It will look cool in the super edit forum.

13, Do you ever see a picture and think "How did they do that?". Which GTPlanet photomode members picture would you like to know more about?
I've had many of those moments, and the person responsible for that is Shaolinmasta. The Chaparral 2X 2.0 edit is the one that really intrigues me, I would really like to know how he did that!

14, Do you have any words of wisdom or anything else you can share to inspire the rest of us?
Never be afraid to post an image. We all started at the bottom, but with time and looking at other peoples' work you'll be up there too. Remember, there is no such thing as a wrong image.

15, Finally, Who would you like to nominate for the next Q&A session and why?
ARC74. He started in 2014 but has already made a name for himself, with some top quality work.

Thanks Aiden 👍

My name is Peter, I work in the shipping department at a publishing company. I'm a bit of a Star Wars fan if you haven't guessed that already (yes, that is me in my avatar LOL).

2, What keeps you coming back to the GTP Photomode Forums?
I enjoy both viewing everyones images and also sharing my own. Admittedly, I am not on these forums all of the time and there're so many images that I've yet to discover. There are so many talented people on here who produce amazing images. I also enjoy the gentlemanly competitiveness of the photo competitions.

3, What where you looking forward to the most before GT6 was released?
To be honest, I was looking forward to there not being any Red Bulls in the game(wishful thinking LOL), but I must admit I like driving the Jr.

4, Of all the new cars in GT6, which one is your favourite and why?
I find myself always going back to the Ferrari 250 GT, it's so much fun to throw around the corners.

5, Which of the new locations is your favourite and why?
It's not really new to GT, but when they added Mid Field to GT6 I was extremely happy to see it again. Brings back good memories from GT3 racing the 94S F1 car in the head to head mode with a good friends of mine.

6, Is there any feature, that isn't in the game, that you would have liked to see?
I would have liked them to have the Race Modification option back in the line up with more cars that could be modified.I also think it would be really cool if you change the width of the tires & wheels in the custom parts menu.

7, What car, which isn't in the game, would you like to have included in GT6?
I really wish they had a 67/68 Ford mustang fastback. What can I say, I really like the classics!

8, Could you share a location that you'd love to see added to GT6?
I'd like to see the Mid Ohio Sports Car circuit added, but I don't think that will ever happen

9, Could you talk us through one of your GT6 pictures from start to finish?
For the CCCL 092,

I changed the weather to 100% which in combination with the warm filter created a nice overall retro tone for the image. I have never tried that before and was really happy with how that turned out. I paused the replay in the chicanes, and slowly walked around the car moving the camera up and down as I went. I stopped (after about fifteen minutes) when I liked what I saw, changed the f/stop to focus solely on the car and made sure the shutter speed was slow (1/60) to get a nice feeling of speed.

10, How about giving us a mini tutorial on any aspect of photographing in GT6?
Hmmm, well I think using the Photo processing 1 filter can be a little tricky to use. You can get too much colour distortion sometimes making the entire shot look a little off. White can end up looking too pink, but this filter can still be effective to use.

11, Can you give us a mini tutorial on any aspect of editing?
I must admit, I've only recently started dabbling with editing photos, so I don't think I really qualify to give a tutorial on a subject that is still new to me.

12, What part of photography/editing do you need to improve on and why?
As far as editing goes, probably everything ;), for the photography, I think it's a constant learning curve, but getting the right composition is something I find myself redoing often.

13, Do you ever see a picture and think "How did they do that?". Which GTPlanet photomode members picture would you like to know more about?
Raphaele's recent entry in the 3.0 competition, how in the how????

14, Do you have any words of wisdom or anything else you can share to inspire the rest of us?
Keep trying different things, and look at your photos a day after you took them. I've taken many shots that looked great in my mind, but when looking at them the next day, they were not so great. At the same time though, I've had the opposite happen as well. An image I'd saved just because turned out to be my favourite after a second look

15, Finally, Who would you like to nominate for the next Q&A session and why?
Safoo71, his Black & Whites are simply stunning.

Thanks Peter 👍

I just had to read your interview again, and I must say that on Q14, I do exactly the same as you.

I always think about what photos would look good enough to be edited or even uploaded.

Great interview and some good advice too!

Fine interview Peter. In case of interest I might come up with a short Making of The Secret Graveyard of the rusted automobiles. Simply let me know...
