GT7 Ebrake and Brake speed glitches

So this bug is hard to do correctly, maybe even requiring special "tools"

Not necessarily, im using an alternative input device simply to showcase the glitch in full effect, ive been doing this glitch normally on controller and on a wheel for around 5 years from GT Sport and in GT7.

only affects certain types of cars and is mostly problematic only to the drag racing community?

Around 90% of cars are effected by the ebrake version of the glitch, only the brake version is limited mostly by FWD.

Unless this bug can be replicated consistenly lap after lap by the top drivers

It would definitely be harder in a live setting, but it doesn't necessarily stop someone from doing what I have done with an alternative device, thats also not me saying that any top player is currently doing this.

I've noticed people pressing the handbrake and brake before corners to let the engine shut off, coasting and flicking the handbrake in corners for rotation, these people are also weirdly fast on a straight line with cars that shouldn't be that fast. I've watched these guys race multiple times and quite honestly, something smells fishy about all of this.

Common thing between them is they all play on remote and they all behave like toxic 14 year olds.

Is this somewhat related? I've seen this multiple times in the lobbies.
And before you tell me, no, 1) pressing the handbrake at 200km/h to 2) switch off your engine and 3) getting handrail like grip is not realistic.

The engine "shutting off" is just the by-product of tapping the handbrake when you aren't accelerating, in GT7. It doesn't affect much, from what I've seen.

In general though, tapping the handbrake in braking zones can help in decelerating, and does reduce the braking distance (at least when you are braking in a straight line). Not much, mind you, and it depends on how good (or bad) the car's brakes are. Race cars, for example, don't see much reduction in the braking distance when tapping the handbrake under braking, compared to cars like the Testarossa or the Diablo, which have bad brakes.

Spoiler: In case anyone needs proof, though I think it's a well known 'quirk' of GT7...

Special Stage Route X standing start with the Testarossa, TCS on 1, no steering inputs, automatic transmission, equal conditions so there's no wind, and trying to brake at the 1000m mark.

The first 2 runs use the handbrake during braking (just tapping the handbrake button repeatedly), while the last 2 runs are with the brakes only. The car for some reason steers slightly to the right, though I think it's due to the launch.

Don't know about using/tapping the handbrake mid-corner though, but I certainly doubt they have "handrail like grip" . I guess it could help by reducing possible understeer? But I doubt it would affect much, and you could chalk that up to placebo.
