That's a day 2 first place right there folks😇View attachment 1554456

Fitted large rear wing, 20 inch bad boys, wide off set. Weak ABS, controller sensitivity -1.
Wing and wheels make a noticeable difference? I know the wheels, as @Tidgney found out, made one on the FTO. I tried it out myself and also found that to be true, though I went faster with the stock rental (albeit considerably more inconsistently - but it may have been the car/track conditions that day versus the next, since they definitely do seem to change).

Still quite sketchy that the game doesn't even all that out for a TT.

It's one of those ones where i don't know what I am doing wrong. So sometimes I know if i do this or that or improve this or that, I will get there. This one, I have no idea what to do, just "driving harder" isn't working.
it seems to be about carrying as much speed as possible through the corners, and then getting on the throttle as soon as possible on exit. But, get it wrong by an iota and the back end just completely gives it up and swings around.

I have gotten desperate and switch from TC1 to TC2 to get through the chicane, as in I change if just before i get there then change it back, given me way more confidence to get on it on exit.

yeah I have no idea how the really fast guys do it.
If you have saved your fastest lap replay, share them in showcase. We can check them out and maybe give a tip or two to help pick up some time.
Have you tried the data logger? It can really help by seeing what you are doing vs a faster lap in real time.

I can see what they are doing, I don't know how they're doing it!
Right, I used to say the same thing...... so maybe some other racer opinions, and/or the data logger can help. Try CSA on Strong, that will help. Just share your replay. I will check it, maybe get you a couple tenths. It doesn't have to be your 'fastest' lap, one that is close will work, I am sure your approach to each lap is the same.

Managed to get the GTR down to a 29.1 which should be enough I think. First sector wasn't great tbh, as in even for me, neither was start of sector 2. But after that, pretty much nailed everything at my absolute limit. To me, I feel like I am picking up the throttle late but still struggling with wheelspin. Lost likely 2 to 3 tenths on the exit through the first corner in sector 2, the bollard corner.

I looked at my data vs world P1 in the same car and as expected, not a ton of difference in terms of line in most corners, nor braking points. The sublty is how long to brake, when to coast etc. He is carrying an avg 10mkh more mid corner, which is preposterous. I enter the chicane at the same time, on the same line, after braking a titch earlier than him, we exit at the same time, but his mid corner is 14kmh faster than mine. Bonkers.

This is with TC1.

Did you share this in Showcase? I will take a look at it if you did.

Just finished a 1-hour test with the new TT (not my favorite track, but a lot of fun with this car) and the weekly race, and had zero issues.

In the end, I checked the calibration and it was perfect. I loaded the default settings and noticed it was set to a 5% deadzone at the bottom and 95% at the top instead of 0–100%. To leave a little bit of leeway, I adjusted it to 0–98%, even though it probably wasn't even necessary.

Now I can hold out for another couple of months before upgrading. I'm still on the fence about the brake, though. At first, I hated the G29's rubber stopper compared to the G27, which had full travel, but by now I’ve gotten used to it and I can trail brake exactly how I want. Then again, if I were to install the TrueBrake, I’d definitely get used to that too. It’s just a matter of whether I want to reset my muscle memory for the brake or just stick with the stock spring and rubber block setup.

As for the tires and car mods, it’s been a well-known fact for a while now that they slightly change the physics. In fact, it was actually mentioned here on the forum back then, which is how I first found out about it.
Back then, I did some testing (only tires, I never added spoilers or anything else) and, for me, the stock setup was faster. Wider and bigger wheels made the car easier to handle, but slightly slower and prone to understeer.
In my opinion, they are only useful when dealing with road cars that are very difficult to control; in those cases, fitting modified tires gives you a bit more confidence, which helps drop your lap times. However, if you learn how to handle the stock car, that's how you get the best times. Just my two cents.

Had no intention of trying Fuji again today, but since I had some time, I figured I'd give it a go.

Since the new top time used the GT-R, I thought I'd try that, and fairly quickly got myself down into the 27s with a 1:27.948, and definitely time to spare (optimum of a .733).

It seems far less twitchy than the NSX.

Back on top. If ever there was a combo that suits my chaotic power slidy driving style its this one.

More to come. Not afraid of Andrew or Akagi here, got them both covered.

Had a good session at Fuji last night. Was popping off several .5xx S1 times. Finally started hitting S2 good by hitting in the .7xx. Then this lap, which I didn't have a great S1 and S2 times, I absolutely drilled S3 compared to what I have been doing. Just missed goal by .050
Going to try some more later.
