GT7 RHD & LHD Petition

Hi All,

I've just upgraded to have a shifter, and I'm wondering if anyone has already started a petition for making cars manufactured in both LHD and RHD, to have a choice of side when playing inside view or VR on GT7?

I understand that some cars are only manufactured on one side and I'm cool with that.

Maybe in GT8 with that "car generation technology" they are working on. It could allow them to scan a LHD and generate a RHD automatically.
 
I do think it'd be cool if they did it based on where you are. Like here in the states, cars are LHD, while in the UK they're RHD. So I think it'd be cool if the steering wheel would correspond to where you are.

I know that's a tall ask since they'd have to make a lot of the normal cars in both versions (which would definitely take a LOT longer in development). But it'd still be cool. And yes, I know it won't happen for GT7. But maybe in future versions...who knows?
 
Off the top of my head, I think the closest we ever saw that in a GT game were the earlier games with multiple Mazda Roadsters being ROADSTER/MX-5/Miata. Of course we couldn’t see the interior, but I think that’s it for LHD/RHD variants. Maybe Opel(Germany LHD) and Vauxhall(UK RHD) cars in GT2?

That reminds me of the NSX in different versions of PS1 GT era. The Honda (RHD) version on elsewhere while the Acura (LHD) version on US version.

Unfortunately it is not as simple as simply mirroring the interior, else more games would've had it by now :indiff: (I guess you technically could just mirror the entire interior view, but detail-oriented PD would never do that).

TBH I'd rather PD just scan a model from the car's current country and call it a day and stop mix-matching (like with Nissan having a UKDM(?) LHD R35 and USDM Z for some bizarre reason).

Yeah good point, I guess they would have to scan the interior of both the LHD and RHD. I wonder if they offered it as a DLC, how many people would pay them to scan the car. That's why I'm asking about the petition, surely if enough people say they would pay £20/30 for it, they would do it.
