These were my picks for this week:
Mostly straightforward, but that last race had its frustrations (hard difficulty)...
Grand Valley - Suzuki Jimny Sierra JC '18 - Slapped some SS tires on this puppy and went for a ride. Easy win for the first ticket.
Alsace - Renault Captur S Edition '21 - I think I upgraded this too much when I used it in last week's challenge. This was just too easy. Second check mark.
Grand Valley (again) - Bugatti Veyron 16.4 '13 - The only improvement I made was the tires to SS, which put it very close to the 700 PP limit. I definitely needed them, though. This car is fast, and heavy. Even with the soft tires I had to brake way earlier than I would in other cars. And I still went off the track in places. Despite all that, it was another easy win for the second ticket.
Road Atlanta - Chevy Camaro SS '16 - I made a bunch of upgrades on the car to get it close to the PP limit -- sports components, 2 levels of weight reduction, and SS tires. It was really tail happy, but not unmanageably so. I steadily worked my way through the field for the win. Fourth box checked.
Tokyo Expressway - Porsche 911 RSR (911) '17 - I had to restart this one so many times. I started on RM tires and bumped up the fuel map to 3 and short-shifted in the hopes of doing a 1-stop. The rain came on lap 3. I pitted for IMs and fuel, which would be enough to last to the end if I continued with fuel saving. The problem always came on the first wet lap: the AI cars swerving in front me a the last moment when I tried to overtake them or just stupidly getting yellow flag penalties. I finally got a clean run through the 4th lap and easily took the lead. The rain stopped and the tracked started drying, so I went back into the pits at the end of lap 7 for RSs -- no fuel. Dropped a few spots because of the pit, but they all pitted on lap 9 so I could retake the lead for the win. Final ticket obtained.
I won a Renault R.S.01 '16. Didn't have one in this account yet. Nice!
