GTA IV Online racing

Heres a bit of a good game mode on the GTA IV online sidde of things! Some nice features where you cn restrict everyone to a class off car, set the track and laps along with turning various options on or off, includeing traffic and weapons! Had some really good races this afternoon, including one in helicopters LOL theres even a cannon ball run accross the whole city which can be quite chaotic with a full field of drivers :)The options allow you to create a realistic street race to an open warfare free for all ad max style affair which can be real fun in the muscle cars. Any way with fastest lap times ect maybe we can start a GTP race night? anyone interestead?
 
hey there, i'm a great fan of long run aka Gumball , Canonball. i did several online races in GTA4 and enjoyed it. I'm up for it. tell me the timings and my PSN is Chris UAE :)

Sure, I just got the game and had trouble connecting the other day with my firend's CD, but I'll join. Just so you know, this isn't GT5 any more, and dirty tactics will be me all over :trouble:

Incidentally...

Does anyone know how to create your own online races?

Obviously one player is assigned in charge of choosing the game modes when you go online, so can choose the class of race, the laps, the traffic levels etc. Thing is, even when I go to "custom match" from the mobile phone instead of "quick match", it still won't allow me to be in charge, it always just seems to add me to someone else's game. There are a load of car classes that I've not raced in because someone *always* pics supercars, which gets a bit boring.
 
Any anyone’s online I’ll be setting up a race in about 15 minutes. :)
 
I'm up for it but uh i'm XBL so I know if there's anyone that does the 360 that wants too.
 
I finally got the chance of creating my own races last night, after another driver got kicked in the menu screen as he seemed to be doing nothing.

I first made a 4x4 race, in the rain which was great fun, then a lorry race which was quite a laugh too. Finally I made a Police race which about 6 people joined, FBI cars, Police Hummers and everything, was great! Next time I have the chance I'm making a people-carrier race...
 
Bump

Had some excellent races around midday today. Pretty much full grids. The host of the races changed the circuit and the class of vehicle every single race - the first race was in helis, the second in boats, and went through every car class after that. I got a fair few wins but the racing was brilliant, utter chaos sometimes and laugh-out-loud hilarious at others. The minivan race was particularly good.

Love the variety of the racing though. It's kind of the perfect antidote to GT5. It doesn't matter in the slightest if someone crashes you off, just get them back next time you see them and everyone expects the chaos :D
