Well done atwyatt 👍 Too bad there weren't more participants :(

Notes on route taken:

atwyatt
Head straight out on runway, go to right of the last house-ramp. Go right of the main tree in the way. Go across road. Stay somewhat left near the rock formations on the left side.

Take a somewhat left path up and over the hill (to the left of the tree I always hit.) Go to the left of the fence (in the town where "High Noon" happens.)

Go up the path, get onto the road, drive that like Dam Rider until you get to the first turn (of that race.) Jump off that, staying to the right. Land (hopefully) on the other side of the freeway. Go to right of fence, right of save house. Onto the road.

Stay on that until the end of the suspension bridge. Brake and take a right immediately after the cables. Go under the partially finished part of the freeway. Take a right. Cut across the plaza, and go straight down that road until past the hospital. Take a left and jump through monument. :)

Car-less
Follow the runway all the way to the west.
Join the road at the end of the runway, turning right at the fork.
Travel cross country to join the northern road between Las Payasadas and Valle Ocultado. T1 ~0:30.
Follow this road west over the bridge, turning right at the gas station in El Quebrados.
Continue west and again turn right, this time into the tunnel. T2 ~1:10.
Follow the road as it continues west then turns south onto Gant Bridge.
Turn right immediately after crossing the bridge. T3 ~2:10.
Follow this road south to the finish line. TT ~2:40.

I was trying to do a 2 route options race, 1 mainly on-road and other mainly off-road. Seems I succeded to some extent :)

Regarding the roof-top comment: If you choose to approach the finish from the E using the main road that runs just N of the Doherty construction site, - then when you approach the tunnel go of the road to the N and run just S of the "Vank Hoff in the Park" Hotel, there's a large paved area with some trees ending with a fence. Run full speed through the fence and jump the narrow gap to the roof of the building facing the next street, - maintain speed and jump across the street (with the barber shop) to a roof on the opposite side (several levels depending on angle, aim using the Cluckin' Bell ahead) and turn a bit right before dropping of the roof towards the small grassy area with some trees and then finish with an insane stunt through the monument :D

Wow! Sounds like an awesome stunt! :) Did you get it on video?

I was hoping you were going to compete too, even though you'd beat my time by a good margin. ;)

Congrats atwyatt - beat me fair and square.

Initially I tried a route similar to yours, but after crossing the bridge into San Fierro I waited until the gap at transfender to turn right off the freeway. I then went diagonally northwest accross the construction site, and to the south of the tunnel in GTA_Phreaks description. I jumped off the grass verge just to the south of the fence and then accross some rooftops to finish. However, with my poor bike skills the best time I managed on that route was 2:59!

Yeah, my goal was to find places where I could lean forward as much as possible. So I made sure my route had some really long straights.

The 3 main straights in my path were these: from the starting position to the base of the arch (using the ramp-house and the main tree to the right as a guide,) from after the save house to the end of the bridge, and the road that goes all the way to the hospital, which I could get onto right after the bump in the sidewalk, next to one of the big skyscrapers.

I really want to learn how to race cars, so I can compete with you guys in all those other races. I've played the bike and airplane races a lot, but I don't have any good times in the car races. :( I think I've finally found what works though. :)

Errr, - the current format doesn't allow the "task-setter" to compete. But I do think I would be hard pressed to beat your time ;)

Btw. atwyatt, - if you think it's worthwhile then you as winner should plan the next race.

Cool. :) Would it be ok if I competed too? (for fun and for competition) I wouldn't look at any PM's until I had finished my time.

Is it ok if I do a multi-segment race? Ie. bike to plane to car? I have a pretty fun one in mind. :)

Also, do you know why GM wouldn't let time discussion in the thread? It seems like it would encourage more participation if anything.

Edit: Actually, using different cars, airplanes and bikes in one race seems to be subject to the randomness of the spawns. :( So I don't think I'll do that.
