Ride to the top of Mt.Chilliad on a Sanchez, take either a Journey or Camper (both spawn at the top) and drive that to the Four Dragons Casino in Las Venturas.

Start at the bottom of Mt.Chilliad, where the Mountain Bike Race ends and finish under the arch outside the entrance to the Four Dragons.

Could you clarify whether using the game-clock would be acceptable. As noted by a few people in the WRS Week1 thread, use of a seperate stopwatch may be less accurate.

...and the deadline. 00:01 New Zealand time? 23:59 Hawaii? There is almost 48 hours difference.

Use of in game clock is alowed if you can somehow convert it into minuites and secodns at the end of your run.

Any time, I'll probably post the results up the day after

Aren't the game clock's minutes actually equal to seconds? And the hours equal to minutes? Or does the game clock run faster or slower?

Also, it would be cool if we could take the Sanchez all the way. The Journey and Camper are slow. :( I've already got a time for the current challenge though. :)

only six minutes. If you have 10 minutes to waste every time you get near the end and screw up a run and have to go back to the mountain to start all over again, then good for you, but I don't have the patience for that sort of thing and find that shorter course would create more interest.

Close enough. My PS2 version has a slight lag of about 1 second in every 80. A PC version could have a different lag depending on various settings.

Can there not be a full course and short course league, then people choose which they're entering each week?

With only Four times submitted for the first week, I don't think there is enough interest to support two different races each week.

That said, I too feel that this weeks race is a bit long. With the vehicle change it is so tempting to time myself up the mountain, and stop the clock. Then do the race from the top to LV, and add the climb time to get a total time. Not that I am going to do so - it wouldn't be fair on the other competitors, but in future I don't think vehicle changes should be incorporated into the races...
...unless the second leg was actually the following weeks race.

I think the race length is fine. I like the longer races because they test your skill and consistency more, instead of getting lucky with good traffic patterns in some places.

It would be cool though, to not have to change vehicles. The Camper and Journey are just too slow, and it would be a lot funner to stay on the Sanchez for the whole race. (I like the Sanchez anyways. :) )

Anyways, with the slow Camper and Journey, most of this race is going to come down to the route, since their top speed isn't much at all. So racing skill isn't going to be as much of a factor in getting a good overall time. (Unless you can handle some crazy route with the Camper or Journey that we're missing.)

RICHARDRFO: Are you saving at the save spot near the beginning of the race? That makes it pretty easy to restart.

As I did with the first WRS, I found myself a suitable route, and set myself split times along that route.

After some 20 attempts, I was on a very good run.
A great start followed by a quick vehicle change, and then an Incredible descent put me some 10 seconds ahead of schedule by T2. This was followed by some very clean driving, and by T4 I was 15 seconds ahead, still with no incidents. But then, as I was entering Las Venturas a van came up very quickly behind me, and rammed into the back of my camper.

It stuck fast. No really, the van had hit so hard that the two vehicles were effectively merged into one, and had come to a full stop. To make matters worse, he was attempting to back out of the situation as I attempted to accelerate out of it. It was like a tug of war with both of us spinning our tyres yet going nowhere.

Needless to say a pileup quickly occurred, and soon I was in the middle of a burning pile of wreckage.;(

I'm not sure which is the most disturbing - this incident, or the time I was overtaken by a forklift - also as I was entering Las Venturas.

There was only one kind of decent for me. Launch off the ramp and fall down the side of the mountain!

When are the results going up?

Sad! Count me in for the next one, provided I can find the right memory card, otherwise it will have to wait until a couple of weeks when I can get my butt through the game again :dunce: .

Unless you want to do some Los Santos only ones?
