GTA V - What sort of a storyline/setting would you like?

After recently watching The Departed again, I had a thought that it would be amazing if GTA V followed a storyline based on this film; A mole in a criminal gang and a rat in the police crossing paths - you play two separate episodes in the role of each imposter. I imagine that it would probably be the most serious GTA yet and probably wouldn't have quite the same amount of scope for hilarity and absurdness as previous titles, but I think it would also hold the most depth and drama of any GTA to date. Obviously this would have to be done in an original way, as they couldn't simply rip off the film completely.

I know this is pure fantasy but personally that would be my idea for the new game. As much as I love GTA, the games have become pretty formulaic and I think they could do with branching out and trying something a little more original (not that this story in itself is original of course, but I believe it would be in the context of a computer game).

Any other ideas for a good storyline for GTA V?

I'll have a crack at it:

Patrick "Davey" Lynn is a Korean-American working for the "Post Office", an illegal CIA group running out of Asia. Lynn is a hatchet-man, someone the CIA will contact when they consider a job to be too dangerous for their regular channels. Having amassed a small fortune from his work, Lynn resigns from the CIA. Two days later, Congress learn of the existence of the Post Office, and America is rocked by the controversy. As a result, the Agency believes that Lynn is the whistle-blower. Lynn is inadvertently protected by the controversy, because the CIA cannot risk being found out if he winds up dead. As a result, he has a free pass - for now - and is dropped in the middle of an Asian city (one-third being modelled on the high-tech Tokyo, one-third on the Bangkok slums and one-third on rural Korea). Modelling himself as part bounty hunter, part private detective and part mercenary, Lynn gets caught up in the Korean-born yakuza as the yakuza proper and the Chinese triads get caught up in a war with one another.

Alternatively:

Maxim "Max" Malinovsky was an ambitious capitalist in Russia at the end of the Cold War. When the Kremlin sold anything they could think of in a grab for capital, Malinovsky picked up a string of copper and aluminium mines at rock-bottom prices. He then started getting contracts to manufacture power cables, which he sold at grossly-infated prices. This attracted the attention of the Moscow bratva, who "encouraged" Malinovsky to join them. Stupidly, Malinovsky refused. The bratva proceeded to run him out of him homeland, and Malinovsky journeyed to America. The bratva occasionally send someone after him, but he survives by playing them off the Chechen obshina. And to stop himself falling under the Chechens' influence, he sells them out to the Russians. So long as they hate each other more than they hate him, Malinovsky is safe from them. Based out of a seedy nightclub in a derelict industrial estate, Malinvosky has to try to expand his criminal empire whilst maintaining the delicate balance between the Russians and the Chechens.
