I worked my way through the Ace level events last night, so I can say now that I have fully completed GT Concept, not just got 100%.

I noticed with the Ace level that although the AI still isn't fast enough, it does seem to fight better for position. I noted a couple of times last night using my usual passing techniques (i.e. stick it up the inside and jam on the brakes) that the AI would actually hold position on the outside, so if you're trying to keep it clean you need to trim your speed back because you can't use the full width of the track, because the AI's there.

I had quite a good fight using the Audi TT DTM car against two of the Astras at Autumn Ring.

I'd be interested in comments from other GTC players.

You know I cant seem to beat that bloody tommikaira ZZS at tokyo 246 (will the 4wd 500+ version you know the one) with anything that GTConcept will let you choose, well barring the zonda. This seems only to happen in ace mode though?

As long as youve played GT3 the ai (barring that bloody tommikaria) is still easy. Improved but...........easy, although the japanese version of gtconcept was so easy I couldve played it with my eyes closed.

Oh - it's certainly a pushover for anyone who's completed 100% on GT3, no question.

I'm really ordinary off the line, and with the AI using TCS (I don't) I'm always trailing a bit into the first corner, so I've got to work my way through the field - I'd just noticed working my way through the field last night in the Autumn Ring event in reasonably evenly matched cars (a round of the DTM, it was, with my DTM TT, two DTM Astras, two DTM Mercs and the DTM Calibra) that the Astras put up a bit of a fight in the corners, as opposed to the usual panel bashing that goes on.

I think the AI is pretty good, but as soon as you change your settings so you're more competitive, they just can't keep up.

It's the most obvious in races with the pods, Ka's or other slow cars that are put together against each other. If you don't change your settings, you're in for a pretty good fight, but with good settings, you just go in the lead after 3 corners and you never see anyone back unless you make a mistake.

That's how I invented a new challenge: finish in the pits! You lose something like 20 seconds, so you should have driven quite well if you want to win the race. I can even win this way in ACE mode.

The "Ace" spec drivers are definately much sharper, hold their lines a lot longer and have forced me to back off on a number of occasions .. hopefully we'll see this AI come into GT4 ;)

Is anyone else getting excited about Auto Modellista yet?? Its due out on the 1st of November here in the UK :D

Or an even better AI for GT4? :gcar:

Has anyone tried the Ai in GTConcept Tokyo 2001?

It has the dumbest easyest slowest ai in a GT game I have ever played.

IMO I think polyphony can make good ai but I dont think that they choose to put it in the games that count :reallyodd
