Today, after a brief day at school, I arrived home an turned on the PS3. I saw that there was a new update available for GT5. I told it to go ahead and install, and I eagerly waited to play the game. After 15ish minutes of installation, it was ready, so I dived into the game and started hunting for a room online. Found a cruise room, and left shortly after since all of the drivers were idiots who couldn't drive. The next cruise room I joined was more successful. But then Update 2.01 reared its ugly head. The host changed the track soon after my arrival and my game froze. I couldn't go to the home screen or anything. Frustrated, I turned off the PS3 and started it up again. I find the cruise room and I join it once again. This time, upon arrival, I'm greeted with "Disconnected from the server". The game boots me back to the Open Lobby, and I try again. "Disconnected from the server". Great. I go back to Open Lobby and find another cruise room. And once again, I get disconnected. I find the room again and I start driving. I manage to complete one 75 mph lap around Spa, where the host changes the track, and my game freezes. My nostrils flare, smoke comes out of my ears, and I turn off the PS3. I haven't had such bad issues with online in months, and it just started today, so it's definitely a side affect of Update 2.01.

Haven't updated yet, too busy playing BF3. Though I have heard of similar horror stories such as yours occuring. :banghead:
 
Yeah my game keeps locking up everytime I log onto the servers. I've cleared my cache, but no improvement.

Now I just stay logged off until new seasonals are in.
 
This has been happening to me before and after 2.01. I barely use online now, it's no fun staying in a lobby and getting disconnected 5 minutes later. I don't really know what to do to prevent this either, I just sort of clear my cache, but that doesn't work for me anymore. :confused:
 
I was hosting rooms for my friends since they wanted to drift on the kart II track but everytime i tried to change tracks, the game froze. Did it 3 times so i turned it off and middle fingered my ps3.

Glad I'm not the only one who's given their PS3 the finger. :sick:
 
You said something of concern..."it took 15 minutes to download". This update was just over 100 MB and should have only taken 3 minutes tops. Check your internet connection.
 
When in a room with rolling starts your car will lock at 74 mph until you pause and unpause the game
 
Nothing like that happened to me *knocks on wood* but, however, sadly online is where that game fails... No matchmaking, no leaderboards, no statistics recorded, craptastic search options. So much wasted potential, I was hoping for improvement after Prologue servers were shut down.. I guess not, but as long we have Barbie suits...

I was just testing the new DLC cars and I took my GT-R touring car around Spa once and the total mileage is stuck at 1.9, same with my Racing Kart Jr, however I just took one of the Skylines around and it has 4.4 miles on it. Really weird.. Looks like this update broke more than it fixed..
 
Got the update pop up last night I thought great install this and get on the Kart track, How wrong I was, It downloaded and as it finished installing I got an error so I thought ok fair enough nothing major, Tried a second time and what's this 680mb 1/11 that cant be right, Yep what the update did was basically take my game back to as fresh as a just opened package I had to download all the updates since day 1, And now I find my home photo is gone (No big deal), Half my cars thumbnails are missing (Not happy), And to add insult to injury all my 600+ photos are now gone too, Safe to say im pretty 🤬 off.

I'm thinking the connection has something to do with it along with a few errors. A slower DSL connection could easily take 15 min though...
 
Now I just tested a few more cars and the mileage is fine with them.. Weird.. The game must have momentarily had a "poop".

Haha, I was playing BF3 too, I just went on GT5 to keep my 200% bonus going :p
 
Ive been having trouble with my online service getting slow during peak hours. Im on the east coast and have optimum online. Also today i noticed gt5 was slow but my internet speeds are ok. So i think its just gt5 servers this time. All the buzz of dlc and people downloading?
 
Are you having the problem? I'd have the question of: Ethernet cable or Wireless?

I would have disconnection issues with wireless, then I got fed up and hard-wired the sucker. I've never been booted since, even since 2.01.
 
This happens to me a lot before and after the update. What I do is before I play I'll unplug the modem and router disconnect everything for 10 minutes or longer and it usually works fine for the rest of the night. i have realized that all MY issues all stem from interruptions in m internet connection. Not saing everyones do, but evertime m game takes too long to load or freezes I know that I cant play online until I power cycle. Its a pain, but it works

EDIT: Can ou tell my Y button stinks lol!
 
I had the same issue, as soon as the host tried to change rooms it froze, I could hear people talking still, saying theirs froze too, and had to reset PS3 after about 3 mins of nothing.
 
All I can say is check your connections, or were you downloading something, or running a lot of internet thirsty things at your house, and did you try hosting a room yourself?

I went through this in a Daytona room PLUS THIS: Everytime I won a race, it started me in the back....waaaaay back. So far back I was out of the draft from the get go. PD is really messing things up. Hope they fix this stuff.
EDIT: It was happening to other people too, so it wasn't me or my connection. Room was reset regularly also.
 
hey everyone. I have problem with GT5 cause freezing/black screen on 2.01 version, online and offline, Installed and Uninstalled I was delete save game data then create new data again, I was delete game data utility from version then downloaded it again, GT5 Disc have no scratch since when GT5 was release with Collector (but it still problem, I have no reason).

1. On dealership, I saw audi, mercedes benz, and other was no show on car then got freezing in few sec.

2. On my garage, I try to pick my Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR, and was no show car then got freezing in few sec.

What Happening with it??? I have no matter????? HELP ME!?
