Info: The theremin is a musical instrument played without actual physical contact.
From Wikipedia: "The instrument's controlling section usually consists of two metal antennas that sense the relative position of the thereminist's hands and control oscillators for frequency with one hand, and amplitude (volume) with the other."
 
Amazing bit of kit, used to great effect by Jean Michel Jarre, Led Zeppelin and others, however because you have to explain how it works any time it's seen. Due to this, it loses a point from SZ.
 
Cool because instrument

Not sub zero because I wouldn't use it in most prog metal songs but has its validity in post rock (Check out Hidden Ways by I Am Waiting For You Last Summer)
