GTP At Home?

Hey everyone, I just got this idea from the Pizza Topping thread...not sure if there's another thread like this, but it would be a hard thing to search for anyway, so if there is, just close 'er up.

Anyway, I was wondering how many of you here at GTP frequently quote other members' (or your own) posts from the website in your daily activities? Have you learned things from other members and then told them to your friends who are not affiliated with GTP? If so, which threads and / or members (besides Famine) have been most influential in your life?

For me, the "Questioning Religion" thread is a big topic for conversation between me and my girlfriend.

I seem to quote myself first in reality over here and then on the interweb via GTP, I quote myself and others. . . If that is remotely what you are looking for. . .

I make Famine and XVII quotes all the time. My science teacher laughed and my philosophy teacher kicked me out of class :lol::lol::lol:

I've taken many an inusult that has been posted here and modify them into my life.

I used a comment that was posted in a wheelie trick thread. Whoever it was, said that at some insane speed(something like two billion mph) the universe is torn up which is represented by your ps2 freezing. It's not true but I still find it funny. I used it in the context of my computer freeking out when I was tweeking with the settings in marrowind.

^Why would you take insults and modify them into your life?

I think he meant he uses them on other people, which is both perfectly okay and perfectly normal. Everyone does that.

......and kinda sad. If you are going to insult someone, use your own mind and think of something witty and concise. Believe me, it is much more satisfying. :)

As long as the intended victim doesn't know you're using unoriginal material, what difference does it make?

As I stated earlier, it is much more satisfying to come up with something on your own.

I don't talk about this place.
Rule number one of GTPlanet is YOU DONOT TALK ABOUT GTPLANET.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I've been guilty of stealing Famine's "Fun Fact of Week" on a few occassions over IM to spark a random conversation or break up an argument.

Dave132132: ZOMG MY COMPATR IZ ZOOOO MUCH KULER TAHN URZ!!!1
Steve(9876987: WTF??! N0 W4Y L4MR J00 5uXx0Rz!!!11oneandahalf

It's called 1337 (elite or leet?)

Numbers and other characters used in place of letters due to looking similar. I use it when I make fun of people being stupid on the internet.

I often quote Famine or milefile. Milefile's quote about ricing a Ford Taurus is one of all-time favorites.

I also have friendly debates with my friend, Steph, on topics covered in the opinons forum.

A lot of the car info I get I share with friends who know jack squat about cars.

I share the occasional WRS, as well as variouse things with my dad, But mainly i share the intial D thread with my friends as it tells us when the next ep is coming out.
