Hmm, the Hornet... I never really thought much of AMC, especially their last breaths in the car industry. But I don't dislike the Hornet that much, I actually think it's a good-looking car. You really shouldn't be looking at fuel mileage when you buy a pony car, but the I6 does have a pretty decent mpg rating for an American car of the 70's. But the real Hornets have to be the SC and the AMX (especially the AMX). Everything else is your usual American muscle car, in some cases outdone by fellow rivals.

But the Hornet's "standing out" factor and the very nice last picture push the Hornet to a cool rating.

AMC is one of the many defunct American brands that have become cool. The Hornet is no exception.
The Gremlin is.

Cool.

The modded yellow one in the OP looks like a horrible 1980s Mitsubishi/Nissan hatechild.

Man With The Golden Gun. It's an interesting car but...

Uncool

Looks like a number of '70's Japanese cars... quite nice.

Low cool.

My Dad in his infinite wisdom, has bought one of those when it was in a shape, lets just say with "a lot of potential". Back then i was in high school, and didnt know anything.

Now looking back at it, i understand and fully grasp the beauty of his choice...

The me who is now would have gotten very well with him back then.

My Dad is a smart man, despite the appearances...
Just like this car, there is more than meets the eye...

COOL car !

The yellow one in the OP is completely hideous - an ugly body-kit combined with tiny castors for wheels looks ridiculous.

On the other hand, it's clear from the green model that it's a clean, attractive design without it. On that basis, I'm going with cool (just).

Whenever I hear the name AMC Hornet all I think about is that rusting POS poop brown station wagon my neighbor had sitting in his driveway. Nothing but an eyesore.

There's maybe 2 AMC's that barely earn a cool from me, the Hornet certainly isn't one of them.

That's the stock AMC AMX Hornet body kit. It's what makes it a AMX, right? Also, two cars in the OP have aftermarket wheels, is that the issue?

Same thought process, same vote.

Also, I always quite like muscle cars that aren't absolutely massive. This looks of a size that you could actually get away with driving outside of America.

Both yellow ones.

I completely agree with the Brothers Ingrimm Ingram.

The body kit is stock, they came that way. Look at the last white one. That's 100% OEM for the AMX model.
