It's one of those vehicles that were a solid meh when they first came out but are quite cool now. Mainly cool due to it's simplicity. It's the polar opposite of the gargantuan, overly complex pickups of the 21st century.
 
I like simple trucks. My dad's 2002 Tundra is just a simple, bare-bones truck with a standard cab and manual everything, and I love it. Simple trucks like that and this Datsun just look so much better than overwrought crew-cab behemoths. That said, what the actual hell is the "ute" body for this???

Solid cool either way, but if we were just polling the weird Aznom-lookin' ute version it would drop...
 
The Official Ute of Rotary Swaps in Australia, in 2 Door (Pickup) form cool, everything else uncool.

That Coupe like thing with a Ute back is disgusting lol, should've been a seperate poll it would have a strong chance for Hell.

I imagine one of these could fit in the back of a new Super Duty to be honest.
 
I love how simple these are. Plus one of my all-time favorite trucks from Japan. SZ.
