British cars of this era were notorious for poor build quality!

Many, many years ago a friend of mine bought a TR7 at auction... It looked to be in really good nick, until he got it home, had a good look around it and found the rear bulk head was rusted to pieces and the rear of the car was in danger of falling off.

Went back through the auction the following week.

Uncool.

Yeah, my ex-wife had a 74 Triumph Spitifire. Things just kept on breaking, not to mention that by the time the car was 7 or 8 years old parts were almost impossible to find. I actually bought an entire second car just to supply parts for the first one.
 
Awful and brilliant at the same time. I'll take a 16V sprint over the V8 though. SZ.
