@Wiegert, you're conflating a few models in your specs there. The Valeo gearbox was only on the T-option cars and I don't think it was on all 4 of the marks that you cover.

Nice car but somehow more Renault Fuego than Ferrari. Meh from me :)

The second fastest seriously uncool ever. The worst Ferrari to ever grace the earth.

Old enough to be a classic now. A 'family' Ferrari long before the 612 or FF. As long as it's not Rosso Corsa with 'shields' or riding on after market or later model alloys, it's a low cool.

Looks like on old tape player

Could an A-list celebrity pull up to an event in one? Yes. Subzero.

It doesn't matter how good or bad old ferrari's were, it will still be cool because "Ferrari".

New ones on the other hand simply means you're a rich douche.

A shame that such a curious Ferrari could still get hate today. Released at a time when the other mid-engine berlinettas below the BB 512 seemed like some of the most apathetic Prancing Horses ever put out.

Odd as it may look from the side especially in cabriolet form, I'd say it was the best-looking 8 cylinder model offered from 1980 until the 288 GTO, and arguably on par with the 328 in its later years. Also one of the few Ferraris of the decade that looked mint in cooler or dark colours.

High cool.

"Meh"er than an Opel Astra Classic.

Still not the worst Ferrari:

Arguably the 512 Testarossa is one of the best, that's a one-off (thank goodness) Spada body on top of one. It was so horrible that the Ferrari Zagato name (FZ93) was dropped from the concept and it was renamed for Ercole Spada (ES1). Spada produced some things of rare beauty in his time, this is not one of them :D

The Mondial looks exactly like the kind of car that someone buys sight unseen as a project restoration thinking they got a steal on a cheap Ferrari, only to fully inspect it after getting it home and realizing that there is no such thing as a cheap Ferrari, so it sits in their garage for a couple years and slowly falls apart even more as they try to sell it to someone other sucker.

In other words, the Mondial is the automotive equivalent of a Christmas fruitcake.

Also, those taillights look like they were taken off a school bus.

It's the midlife crisis Ferrari. Most of these are driven by old men who live in retirement communities in Florida or California... the opposite of cool.
