Sub Zero.

1. I remember seeing manual versions. Who does that for big sedans? 👍

2. Back in '98, a pilot from Connecticut, dropped his '89 750iL off at my local mechanic, for a light service. Had silver BBS RSs, black car with beige leather. Nothing special.
Look under the bonnet and it's a Dinan twin turbo V12!

Love the shape. I'd have one.

Old German luxury yachts are cool by default, but when they are over-engineered, like this one, they're even cooler.

No matter how I look at it, all I can think is "meh".

Personally, I can't really think of any bigger BMW's that don't seem to do that for me.

E30, E34, E32

A hat-trick of cool Beamers. I miss BMWs with those round headlights and grille.

Buy a 750iL, remove exhaust system and get aftermarket headers and straight pipes and it's basically a 4 door McLaren F1.

*off to Craigslist to look for E32 750iL's.

This and the 38 will always be cool. Lithe, sporting, luxurious. Everything the piggy, bloated 65 and onwards could never be.

High cool.

80's exec cruisers that were neither attractive or cool in their day. Cool people drove M3's. Cool people with better jobs and families drove M5's. The 7-series always felt like they were for execs who regarded themselves as important enough to have a chauffeur but couldn't make that step up to a Bentley or large Merc. Because of that I always felt they were a bit pointless. Perhaps I'm just remembering them for that and not how they're perceived now, but it's a difficult image to get past. Uncool.
