No thanks. Poor power ratings due to the smog laws of the time, too heavy for the low power, and an FF layout all drag this down to uncool.

Chevrolet Beretta is one cool name. And it has the looks of a 3rd gen Camaro. Power doesn't bother me that much but it's odd how this car has European saloon looks with European hatchback horsepower.

Despite how underwhelming it is, and how GM axed it partially to not cannabalise Cavalier sales, I can't help but find them a little bit cool.

You could, with careful selection of options and trim levels, get a very nice handling, fairly powerful, competently assembled Beretta. You could never, ever get anything resembling a cool Beretta (the Corsica definitely didn't help); and they never made the one that could have squeaked by.

It was essentially the Scion tC of the time.

It was about as powerful and about as heavy as the cars it competed with. Early 90s midsize-ish coupe with 180-ish horsepower and 2700-ish pounds was pretty much the standard for top models.

Not gonna lie, I sort of like it; it actually looks quite aggressive in Z26 trim I think. Still just a meh though.

The best thing on any of them was the Z26 exterior trim. But it doesn't change the fact that it's on one of the least cool GM platforms.

Also, thank you for including the most ghastly, outdated-even-by-the-late-80s interior colour.

SU.

Solid Cool. For nostalgic reasons.

I learned to drive manual on my cousin's Beretta with the supposedly rare combo of 3.1 V6 and 5 speed.

Also was the pace car for the 1990 Indy 500, the first major auto race I ever attended.

Hum, this one is a head scratcher for me. It's no super car to me, but it doesn't look half bad. That Z26 trim looks nice, and as @Tornado said, you could get a reasonable, good handling car if you knew where to look in the spec list. I'm no American, but I still think it was a decent machine for its time. It's just not nice enough to get a cool.

All in all, it's a meh for me. I don't hate it, but the car doesn't stand out enough to be actually cool.

Back in the day when they were current I always liked the look of them, but they had their issues. The 3.1 v6's were reasonably torquey and snappy for the time, But the Quad 4 powered GTZ (90-93) were the quickest ones. Nice on the outside (cool) with cruddy interiors (uncool) so Meh overall.

90s GM sport thingy that shares it's name with a service pistol. Uncool. Red interior saved it from being SU.

Looks like the type of car you'd find in a trailer park, in appalling condition. SU.

- Late 80s/ 90s Chevy
- Red plushy interiors should never ever have ever been an option
- poor build quality
- Chevy Corsica

Seriously Uncool.

If GM didn't kill off the Beretta, doesn't that mean we will be seeing riced Berettas instead of Cavaliers a lot more often?

Just judging by the Z26 pictured, it'd be a very high cool. Since this is the whole model range, complete with the meh-ish normal models I leveled it out to meh.
