Additional Info: "Based off of the Audi Al2 concept car, the A2 entered production only two years afterwards surprisingly unscathed. I love this car, so much. It's up there with the Clio V6 as a car I'd want from Europe that we never got here. Ahead of its time, very impressive from a technical aspect.

But it is most certainly not cool...

Judging by the images selected for the nomination, I'm surprised we aren't voting solely on the low-drag 3L model. Which has a stronger '90s concept car vibe than the average A2.

Certainly not the best car in its class at the time and sure as hell isn't a cool car. Period. But I've always sort of wanted one all the same. They seem to have aged remarkably well, although a decent set of OEM alloys does help.

As a micro-MPV it's not the typical arsehole Audi, and if we forget the weirdly portioned front-end I do like how it looks. Cool though? Not even a slightest chance. It's essentially the less successful A-Class, a car which seems to be driven almost exclusively by elderly women.

Same as most people's opinions here. I like them for whatever reason, but I'd give it a meh. Here in the UK at least, they are a fairly common sight so they do blend in a bit to much.

Possibly one of the worst looking Audis ever made.

Instead having to open the bonnet like normal people to get at the engine, you have to take the whole bonnet off. What bird-brained numbskull thought that was a good idea?

Uncool.

One of the nicest small cars ever... and one of the nicest Audi's too. Clean, discrete shape, light weight, yet built like a tank. One of the best known McLaren F1 owners (Flemke) has one of these as his daily driver.

Cool.

This is what it would look like if the French would make Audis. Seriously Uncool.

Its a modern Audi, so uncool. The only person i know who's ever had one hates hers, and that's a normal none-car person who doesn't give a' about it's aluminium construction. It's also very ugly. Very low uncool.

Always wanted one of these. I like the way they look, I like the technology and I like that it doesn't look identical to every other Audi of the last two decades. I'll probably buy one at some point.

Not cool though. The looks, the tech etc are too engineering-geeky to be mainstream cool.

Very clever, still looks reasonably fresh.

Hideously uncool.

Mechanically it's the weirdest thing ever. You check all the fluids through the grille and the bonnet doesn't hinge, it just pops completely off. It's so excessively overquirked.

From the way i see it, the A2 tried to appeal to the economical market, but could not do it successfully.

It's an uncool for me.

It would be better as a Volkswagen.

That wouldn't have happened for a good reason. Due to some of the tech involved (the aluminium construction, the ultra economical '3-litre' version etc) the A2 was very expensive by supermini standards - well above what would have been an acceptable price for a VW. I don't have the facts to hand, but I'm pretty sure that Audi made a loss on each A2 it sold.

It's a bit of a cliché, but the A2 was very much a car built ahead of its time. Because of its innovation (and I'll admit, I don't mind the way it looks either), it's one of my favourite Audis.
