One of the few cars that were at least somewhat exciting made by GM's "excitement division" since the Trans Am was discontinued. But anyway it's a baby Corvette made for and bought by baby boomers. Proof that Miata really is always the answer, despite it being much less powerful. These haven't aged too well and the Saturn Sky is better looking.

Uncool.

Seen a few of them with V8s swapped in them

Low cool. Personally I would love to own one, especially a hardtop. I think they're beautiful cars (on the outside; that dash is kinda gross), but they have that Miata cuteness that keeps them from being properly "cool" cars in terms of popular social standards. Still, it does have an aggressiveness and maturity that makes it a bit cooler than a Miata. I love the Miata, it's of course the more capable platform in the eyes of an enthusiast, but I'm just saying. As for the Sky, I'd place it in exactly the same place on the scale as the Solstice.

Good looking, quick, and rare. Excellent candidate for a V8 swap. Lacks the Hairdresser status of the Miata, and not popular with Millennials like the Miata either.

SZ.

Meeh. Like others, I like the Sky better. I always saw it as a "womans midlife crisis" kinda car. The ol "the kids are old enough, I wanna trade in my white Chrysler lebaron for something like my old MG."

While It wouldn't be my first choice if I was looking for something fun, I did have the opportunity to take a coworkers stick shift solstice on a spirited drive in New Hampshire while I was working at a summer camp. Its a genuinely fun little car and felt comfortable at the limit. You would need the convertible though as the coupe suffers the same horrendous visibility and large blind spots that plague the Camaro

I honestly quite like it, it's quirky looking it has potential and here where I live it hasn't got the stigma of being essentially a mini-corvette for boomers so it's a plus.
Cool

Was originally going to vote meh, but I dunno. I kinda like it. It's pretty rare to see out on the road so it grabs your attention when one does pop up.

For a GM 350z/MX-5 equivalent that combines elements of both, I'd say it does the job adequately.
