I think the previous generation looked better. Hopefully this one doesn't stay the same for 10+ years like the last one did.

Low cool.

Trucks are just tools, imo. Tools aren't cool. Men.

Interesting to me only because they're brand new. Give them a year or two, and I won't give them a second glance.

Meh.

Will you ever see one in a tailgate porn video? Nope. Nope nope nope.

Uncool.

The truck really isn't that Japanese since it's only sold in North America and a couple South American countries, it's also built in California. The Hilux is the one that's more worldly.

Also, the reason for the rear drums is because there is no real reason to have discs on the truck. Rear brakes on a pick-up don't really do all that much work and the way the drums are engineered, they can last over 100,000 based on the stories from owners and dealers. Discs make more sense in full-sized trucks due to heat build up from towing, but towing was pretty low priority in focus groups from Toyota.

As far as the truck goes, I don't really know where I stand on the 3rd gen. It's not that good looking of a truck and I agree with @Tornado it's pretty try hard, but it is one of the few trucks left that actually can go offroad out of the box. The GM twins have such low hanging front bumpers and air dams they'd get damage as soon as you encountered a rut or some boulders. I do also wish they would have offered it with the diesel too, but I can understand why they didn't since I don't think it would sell that well in the US market.

Since I do like Taco's, I'll give it a low cool.

It's a truck. That by itself isn't cool to begin with, then it doesn't look that good. Could be a very good tool, not just a cool one.

Uncool
