I'm a sucker for this era/genre of music but these guys aren't at the top of my list.

Going with Cool.

I think Alice In Chains was the cream of the crop out of the Seattle scene. Jar of Flies is one of my favorite albums. Nirvana was ok, but highly overated. MTV did that. Temple of the Dog was great too, Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell in the same band, good lord. (Well Eddie just did backing vocals on some of the songs, but still.)

Meh. I suspect I was just a little too old by the time grunge went mainstream and it just wasn't on my radar prior to that. There's no denying their success, though...

I'm actually with a number here in preferring STP, and no I don't consider them grunge--there are similarities, sure, but they weren't nearly so brooding and angsty--more artistic.

Nirvana's Unplugged is easily one of my favorite albums and is also the first album I really got into. I remember pestering my cousin to put it on her radio when I was younger.

Cool, although AiC is the best of the grunge bands.
