The flamingos are cool, a bit of oversaturation in postpro could bring out some crazy colors on that picture! Also, I would have tried an extreme close-up to the flamingos group (if you had the glass to do so when you took it) in order to achieve some close group shots. Also, an extreme close up of the... er, real turkey? dunno how the damned animal is called in english, but those feathers!!!

Thanks, Cano - you're spot on with everything you said about the Flamingo Club. I can barely imagine what heights your creativity and talent would fly to if presented with such a situation, haha! That environment can basically be an all-day photoshoot. My only excuse - I happened to be a volunteer on a School Excursion, and had to run off after the kids!

As for the 'huexolotls' - guajalote - they are actually pavos real (?) (Royal Turkey?) (my Spanish is dismal - I hope that makes sense)
Over here, we call them 'Peacocks'. The bird at five o'clock is a Peahen - the female, and quite beautiful in a more subdued manner. The bird at two o'clock is another male peacock challenging the male displaying the erection. As you may imagine, when the tail is erect and at full display it's a breath-taking sight. He also ruffles the feathers, makes really weird noises, and gives out the most hideous cry to ever come from a bird of such hypnotic elegance. I guess Naure always balances things out.

The photo in no way did justice to the situation.

Thanks for your input - will bring in more for viewing and discussion soon.

Cheers,
Harry.

I shot the analogue with the same camera as you, though I only have one Prime lens for it.
My other analogue is a Minolta.

Cool shots.

*ibo* - I hardly ever use my SLRs any more - the ease and speed (never mind the cost-efficiency) of digitized photography takes visualisation to a whole new plateau. But, tell you what, though - if I need real good hard copy - as in good 10 X 22 blow-ups - then I'm looking at high quality film with a real low ASA. That doesn't happen too often, though. It's an electronic world. Mailing a hundred photos to a client takes a few minutes. Not long ago, that wasn't done too cheaply.
I have to shoot 20 - 100 shots a day, or else I'm not happy. I'm clicking all day, wherever I go. And before - I'd spend a mint on film, as well as developing, processing, storing negatives . . .
Today? I just download, wipe my card clean, and start over again.

The feel and heft of an SLR, a lightweight telephoto hooked on, and out in the field, looking at WYSIWYG, the click of that mirror as it flicks up, not knowing for sure what you captured till the negatives were pushed ;) all these things are what really gives me the magic when I go analog - and like I said - I still do, sometimes. There is always film loaded!
Fast food? Digital it is. Strangely enough i haven't invested in a DSLR yet - everytime I think I'm ready to settle on something, a newer model comes along. I do have a mess of point and shoots, though.
Also I was a Pentax man for ages - then got into Canon - but Nikon keeps calling.
Since Hasselblad is totally out of my reach anyway.:dopey:

^I am on one 36 shots film since january :D lol
Use my Dslr mainly, only "special" shots on film and as you said it's mind wrecking not to know how the shot went ;)

Now I want pancakes, damn it photonrider

*ibo* - you are doing better than me then - one of my SLR's has half a 24 exposed, and still in the cam from last year - almost a year, I also have two rolls of film lost somewhere in the fridge that need to be sent off for processing - it's in a moisture-lock bag and probably under the cabbage or carrots. I've stored film in a fridge before for several months - and when finally processed still came out very well.

As for the pancakes - haha - I posted that pic over a year ago in the 'What are you eating/drinking' thread and many people liked it - so I thought I'll hang it up here in my 'Gallery' so that it would be more easily accessible to old-time members and newcomers, too who might have missed it. One one my favourite shots, too. guaranteed to make me hungry. You're right. Dammit. Heh heh.

BTW - Hoping to see something 'Blue' from you. ;)

I was hoping to update my gallery every fortnight with a few pics, usually on some theme, or event, but time seems to speed up. Everyday. ;)

Fall is the most spectacular season - leafwise - in Canada, and I've captured thousands of Fall shots. I've posted a few of my personal favorites in the OP. Scroll down to the end of the OP/Gallery, if you'd like to check them out.

Cheers,
Harry
