GTP Premium, What do you want in it?

As Jordan has already noted, there are plans for GTP Premium. As he's revising it, the moderators have made suggestions, and we've got a few notes from members.

What I'd really like to know, is what do you want in it?

You've got ideas, and We need to know. Now the hard part is, what do you want to see in it, and how much would you pay for that?

Extra storage space? Extra PM space? The ability to upload files? More attachement space? Bigger avatar? images in your signature? Tell us, and let us know what you'd shell out for that.

Doesn't really affect me much as I have my own webspace, but it would be handy for small files. A page for my .xps replays for example

Nope. Shouldn't be allowed for anyone. It would ruin the look of the forum. Although a larger filesize avatar, still with the 100x100 limit would be good.

Uploading a file already falls under the "attachment" category though, doesn't it?
 
2.99$ for a month.
7.99$ for 3 months.
15.99$ for 6 months
27.99$ for a year.
the maths a bit off but it might work for the premium subscription.

and bigger avatars i would like (115x115px sounds good).
and a 40kb filesize maybe, although the origanal 35kb before gtp6 might work.
 
Just to confirm a few things that have been decided for GTPremium... :)


- No advertisements on forum pages
- 110x110 avatars, 30 KB limit
- 500 PM Limit
- 50 MB of attachments
- Profile Pictures (an ability to upload a picture of yourself to appear in your profile)
 
When we attach GTP uploaded pictures, would it be posible to display the pic in full? At the moment you get the image shrunkenfied. It annoys me. I'd pay for an improvement there. I don't think sig images should be allowed, but i like the idea of a larger avatar size (Kb's not pixels).
 
For the record, signature images will be allowed here when I'm not running the site. :)
 
No, I don't have any plans on leaving or selling the site, it's just a joking way to say that I will never allow images in signatures here. :p
 
How about the ability to attach an image bigger than 100 KB? :) It annoys me and many other people who have an image that is 1 KB over the limit.
 
That's kinda of what this thread is all about. While Jordan ulitimately decides, and the moderators discuss and help, the real decision comes when you give the input. If we don't know what's important to you, we can't really help Jordan decide.

For some of those notes above, What would you pay?.

Larger Avatar, upload space available on GTPlanet (so you can load an image bigger than 100k), more PM space, no banners or adds, and others along those lines. Would you contribute $5 a month, $10 amonth? $2?

This is where you get to give your thoughts.

I personally would hand out $5 a month for more PM space, and no banner ads. I have my own server space, so larger file size and larger images aren't as much of an issue for me.

C'mon Viper_maniac and RVD, what's a fair price in your mind for what you're thinking of?

with the cost of school, the best I'll be able to afford is around $5/month (canadian dollars preferably but the USD conversion isn't too much more). Any more and I don't think I'd be able to handle it :(.

For payments, it'd be nice to have a variety of options. A few friends of mine got screwed by paypal some months back - plus paypal doesn't offer any buyer/seller protection like their competitors.
 
Once i get employment i'd happily pay £30 for a years membership. That's about $55. So you get a $5 discount for a full years membership. Or something like that.

hm, 8-line sig limit? Just a thought; don't really need it or anything. More storage space and PM space is definitely in order (seeing as how when we first made the shift to GTP6 I had well over the maximum amount and had to delete alot of my attachments). The filesize limit could stand to go up a good bit (like 250 kb if you pay). As far as payment goes I'd be willing to depart with up to $15 a month for this service (maybe more if I found it were worth it). Heck, I'd pay $5 a month for just being a part of the forum, let alone getting advanced options. Mehr, that's my input (will we be getting "rewards" for how long we stay subscribed?)

It's still a little little bittle peice of information. I decided to comment on it, and not on one of your other points. I don't see my mistake in that. :confused:
 
The only features that would be nice for me are the lack of ads and extra attatchment space since I do alot of OLR here. The other features are rather meaningless, but a nice bonus. I think maybe $20-25 a year would be OK? You could charge more and get fewer people, or charge less and hopefully get more paying members. I really don't know where the best balance of cost vs. enrollment size would be priced. I will most likely be paying unless the price is way too high for my tastes.

The GTP is loading for me faster than ever, excellent work. Looks nice too:tup:

But more PM space (silly though as I don't have a single PM in my box), no ads and perhaps 50Mb of space on the server for files. I don't know, I like GTP as it is now - but I would be happy to pay US$ 5 a month, or 50 for a year to keep the site running in it's current state - it Rocks 👍 ...

More attachment space. 50mb
40 KB, 100x100 Avatar size
500 PM limit
profile pictures
no ads
image limited to 200k
