Created this list today because I thought it would benefit anyone looking to start a racing series or championship, I read some posts on R1600Turbo's thread about a lot of "Duplicate" Race series so I thought I would help out by posting a list of ideas I came up with, some are made up by me, but most are based off real world race series. I hope to get some feedback and ideas from GTP members to further contribute to the list. Some of the series on the list are already being used, such as Super GT, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to put it on anyway. So without further delay, here is the list

Series highlight in RED are currently in use, feel free to start your own version anyway, but take a look at some of the ones that aren't highlight first.

*List updated with more ideas and thread title changed* Feel free to make suggestions, both for improving upon and adding to the list. Any suggestions on more racing series, will be added to the list.

TOCA Touring cars run now, using NGTC spec cars like in the real BTCC. And the Camaro IROC is actually using the RM model, not the IROC concept.

This is more of an ideas thread, I'm aware that the IROC series on here uses modern Camaros, but in real life when they used to run the IROC, 3rd generations IROC Camaros were used.

Edit one of them. It's Mini Challenge not Mini Cooper Cup. ;)
Nice list by the way. If you can, you could put ones in red that are already made. I'd like to see this kind of topic be sticky-ed if you did the the suggestion I put up. 👍

Sure thing, thanks. I'd like to see it stickied as well.

Le Mans Prototype series is another one you can add.

A Vintage Le Mans Series is currently in the idea's phase from me and a couple other's I know as well.

Modern Le Mans, its already up there. I guess I should bracket LMP and GT. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Nice thread Mac! Will be adding to it!

I hope this gets stickied

+2 for the sticky.

Thanks guys, glad you like it. I'm just trying to help:p

+3 for sticky

theres also a Lotus 111R Race Series. 👍

Don't forget my friends in the BST V8 Challenge Series. Those boys run a V8 spec bases on an American V8 series I believe. It's a great close racing with the bonus of V8 sounds.

This list is great. Now if anyone wants to create a series, they scroll down and find some interesting ideas. Good job.

Thanks guys, I'll be sure to update it tomorrow. Feel free to contribute new ideas as well.

It may be a bit of a pain, but I think it would also be beneficial to write in which timezones are friendly for each series.
I know, being in North America, can't attend many races in the middle of the day (Europe Friendly) and vice versa.

Also, there's an FIA GT1/2 series hosted by Jav. There's a couple others that aren't highlighted in red that should be... Will edit those in.

EDIT: Wardez's Z06 (or zr1 not sure which) series
And maybe the LeMons to Le Mans series.

I think some of you are getting the wrong idea about this thread, this isn't meant to be a list of every racing series on GT Planet, its meant to help people out who are looking to start a series and might be stuck with coming up with an idea for one, so I created this thread to help those people and get more people starting series and championships, the ones highlighted in red are ones that are already in use, so that way people know someone else already has a championship or series based on that form of racing, but it doesn't stop them from making their own either. Like I said, R1600Turbo created a thread stating that they were way to many "duplicate" racing series and championships, for example Super GT, so I created this thread.. I'd be glad to add in your suggestions though, not sure about the time thing though...

That's how I read your thread. But I can see how my post and others seemed to be pushing the GTPlanet interests. The V8 series is a well matched series that I would recommend to others.

I think this thread will be a handy resource for anyone wanting to setup a series. Finding one that isn't already done and a good idea is getting harder. Maybe adding specs/specific cars to some of the listed race series would add to this great list. (eg. GT500)

So something like Raybrig NSX, Restricted to a certain horsepower and PP amount?

Yeah. It would take some research. But it would make the list gold!

Thats a little much for me, if any of the series organizers would like to PM any details they feel necessary to be on that list, such as regulations and dates, etc, I would put them on the list and that would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, my phone always double posts for some reason

I seem to be the only one who wants it, but a course maker sports car series (lmp1 or gt), using tracks from eifel forest etc. Would have to make sure the tracks had no jumps or overtly off cambered corners etc, and that everyone has time to learn the tracks
