I am planning on starting a RallyCross Championship which would run on Sunday's at 7pm GMT / 8pm BST / 3pm EDT

This is not the thread where the championship will be run from. I am just checking wether people are interested or not. Please answer the poll above. The series will have a pre-season if popular in 7 weeks this Sunday.

Each race will consist of two 30 minute heats. Before the first race there will be a small 10 minutes fastest lap qualifying session. Then race 1 will run. The second race will be a race where the starting grid is 'reverse of previous race results'. Points will be given for both races.

Tracks will vary from snow tracks, dirt tracks, tarmac tracks. All the tracks will have lap times of around a minute.

The cars allowed will be any historic rally car or modern rally car. The RM Impreza will also be allowed alongside the CZ3 Tarmac Rally car.

Tyres will be appropriate to the conditions of the track, hence snow tyres for snow, dirt tyres for dirt. On tarmac, the tyres will be limited to sports soft.

Post below if you think there is anything that could be done better and if you have a suitable idea for a points system. Please answer the poll

Only thing: WRC and Group B cars have vast differences in performance. How about a Group B and WRC division?
 
I was planning one of these before but it never came out. I'd join if this thread could get interest and if I could keep it. :)

Also in the one I tried I had 3 classes, two based around production and one based around rally cars. Both had identical rules to the GT Rally events, 246bhp for the lowest class limit and 345 for the middle class limit.

Possibly. I might need some help building a spreadsheet for two different classes so would appreciate some help with that one

Yes it clashes extremelly badly which is why the pre-season is so long away.

Bombe, I will add your link to the OP. Are you interested in joining?
 
I voted 'No'. I am not willing to be in more than one series, too much practice when I have to compete with the great guys in the Le Mans series. And I wonder how rally physics are online, actually. Never tried it ...

They are slidy to say the least. No shortage of fun
 
Would anyone have an issue if we did one or two races on long tarmac tracks like deep forest but allow you to use the grass on the exit? One track that will definately makke it will be Autumn Ring mini due to all the tight left-right-left sections
 
I feel like people are ignoring the rallycross rush
 
Put me down for this as well as I always tended to ignore rallying in GT series would be nice to give it another shot. Also If series is half has much fun as the tyre challenge series should be great.👍
