GTP rFactor rF3 World League - Interest

Me and Ashley, two long-serving residents here at GTPlanet, have decided to put an offline rFactor series in to a WIP stage. It's an idea which we've been lulling over for a while, and only just decided to put it into action.

This is being run offline, because we don't have the "proper" full versions of rFactor, so until we do, we are running this little pre-season test to see just how fast you guys really are with rFactor, before we get serious.

So, let's go through what we've talked about.
  • This will be a Formula 3 series. The car being used will be the RaceWorks rF3.
  • This series will go through 12 rounds to find out who is the quickest in a Formula 3 car.
  • You can either use one of the provided skins in the game, or you are more than welcome to create your own
  • You are allowed to put yourselves into teams of either 2 or 3, but you can run a single entry if you wish.
  • The rules we have decided are this: The driving must be clean, with no cheating, cutting and wallriding. Also, at least 2 wheels must be on the track at all times. Also, the Invulnerability aid must be switched off at all times as well.
That is what we have decided on together. My co-organiser Ashley will add any other info later on. Below will be a list set up for people who wish to take part.

EDIT : I have now decided to open up the engines choice. So now, you can have whatever engine supplier u wish!

EDIT 2: OK, here is the calender which we have decided on. Dates will sill need to be finalised. Also, the venues are in no particular order. This will be done at a later date.

First off it was nitro_2005's sole idea, i just gave him ideas..

Secondly, i have now finally retrieved my "proper" version of rfactor, after formatting my pc i thought i had lost my unlock details but i managed to get them back so its all good on that front.
 
OI, i got rFactor, and I'm better at it than Ashley. (whooped his time on Bathurst in ETCC cars. :D ) so count me in.

Ash and I were talking about having an rFactor team/clan thingie for online and stuff.
 
I'll do it, I don't have much experience in the open wheelers though, I spend most of my time running the Nordschleife 24hr track in GT cars or saloons, or occasionally in the classics like the Ferrari 250GTO and Shelby Cobra.
 
great, so that makes 4 people including me and ash. now u guys have to design ur own skin (if u want to) and also decide on a team name and engine supplier. of course, that engine supplier would appear on your team skin.

Are the cars and tracks we shall be running already in game, cause if not I recommend that those who know the links to download them post them up in here.
 
to answer your question jef, the car and some of the tracks are already in the game. There will be tracks which will need to be downloaded. I will test them in my game to make sure they work.

I think the car is in the demo, I don't know what track/s they're going to be using but I think it's all based on the demo. The full version is worth the price though, the ammount of downloads and tracks, especially the full ring which is far better modelled than any version I've seen anyone make for downaload before.

That Nordscleife is great, seen the new Nordschleife all road being made? looks brilliant.
 
Yeah, it's a proper track conversion, it's got the full 24hr track with the full Nurburgring and Nordschleife, a version with the shorter Nurburgring and then there's just the Nordschlefie as it is in GT4. Racing it at night is great, I'm part way through a 24hr race, been at it about 4 weeks so far, a 60 car grid and real time day and night cycle.

BTW nice team skin 👍.
 
Just started a rF3 season, nice, nippy and fun cars.

Do you have to leave the game on that long or is it possible to save mid-race?
 
ok, i'm now in the process of developing the venue list for the series. also, i will post up the venues for the offline tests soon as well.
 
also, I would like to add that testing is open anywhere. Times arent really important, as long as you can get used to the way the car feels and handles!
 
Given that I don't own the game this is sort of a "what if" question.

If I were to buy the game in time could I run a selected schedule of only two events, those being the American Super Prix and the Canadian Super Prix?

I have another question based on the above; the Mosport in rFactor or available for download for rFactor wouldn't be the same one as available for GT Legends, would it? My problem with that being I was put off of the track in GT Legends form as the lack of elevation increase heading into Quebec corner took some of the character out of the track. If I do get the game I would be more than willing to run my "home" Super Prix.

So whats the deal on this, is it going to happen because its a very fun game.
 
I think stewards have decided it isn't worth running, what with rFactor's great online mode. If you take the time to find them, you will be able to find some great online racing series for rFactor.

I'm looking into this rFactor, as I have been looking for a new racing game for
the computer as the game I play most is Need For Speed High Stakes. I can't
download it at home because I have dialup, but I do have a place I can go
where I can download it. I will see if I can get this soon.
 
I tell you what James. rFactor rocks! I'd recommend you get it! So many mods :drool: it is awesome! Also, a lot of online leagues exist so whatever you drive there is a league available!

Yes I have been looking into it and it does look cool, I think I will get it this weekend
if nothing comes up. Could you tell me how much it cost's because I just got paid
for a job so I have some money now to pay for it.
 
It's about $50 Canadian... not sure what that is in American, but less than 50. So... fairly priced considering all the mods available.
