It's a bit too late for this year, but I have an idea.

A GTP Secret Santa thing. People sign up (PM an admin) with their address, name, etc. and they are entered in a drawing. Every person gets a rnadomly selected Secret Santa and the said admin that takes the votes (or another backup user) will fill in in the case of an odd numbered turnout. An example is here:

Think it would work? Maybe we sould start brainstorming for next year.
 
I was thinking about something like this, too (and not a joke, either).

I'm actually involved in a couple online secret santa things, and the way they work is this:

1. Coordinator posts thread.
2. People PM coordinator with their name and address.
3. On a day, the coordinator sets up who's sending to who.
4. Later that day, the coordinator gives each person who signed up an address.
5. It is the job of the people who signed up to send a gift to that address.
6. People post their gifts in the thread upon receiving them.

Note, in the address, the person's forum username can substitute their actual name. It also works on the honor system: if a person signs up they're supposed to send it. Also, there is no set spending limit. If a person wants to blow $30 on their gift, then they have that right, but they shouldn't expect anything more than $5.

That's how it works in the other forums. So far I've gotten some manga (Initial D), and a CD out of it.
 
GTPremium would make a great secret santa gift! Just send money for a certain amount, with a note explaining who you want to give GTPremium to. It's pretty easy with Paypal, just send the money to premium @ gtplanet.net. You can even let me know if you want me to wait to upgrade their account on Christmas day, just include it in the note! :D

Jordan, you need to be charitable and at least throw in like 1 or 2 premiums that'll be raffled off. Where's your christmas spirit, Jordanclaus?

Maybe you (or the organiser) can arrange it by country.

For someone like me (and others here) in NZ it could take a couple of weeks for the item to reach the UK/US at this time of year. You could have NZ people send to NZ people, Aust people send to Aust people, US to US, UK to UK etc. This'll help with shipping costs too. :)
