2016 Revised Driver Rating & Driving Time Restrictions

- For QP the mix of drivers who's times will be counted is equal to that of Driver 1 & Driver 2. i.e. for GT3 AM the average time of either; 2 Bronze drivers or 1 Bronze and 1 Silver will be taken, times set by Gold or Platinum drivers will not count towards the team's grid time.

- Rookies can take any seat.

- Driving time limits for Rookies are equal to that of the lowest eligible driver rating.

- Rookies must take part in QP, and their times will be counted.

- For all classes save DP, GTLM, GT500, and GT3 PRO, lap times set by Rookies that are faster than the fastest lap time set by an eligible rated driver, will be capped to 100.5% of that lap time.

Regulation Update

VW Fun Cup - Supplementary Technical Regulations

- Wheels may be ANY solid paint colour.

Sporting Regulations

- Starting Driver & Pole Position Side may be amended without penalty at any time up to 24 hours before the start of a Race.

- Rookie Times now eligible to set Grid Time.

- Rookie Times that are +1.5% quicker than the fastest Eligible Ranked driver will be capped at 100.5% of the fastest Eligible Ranked driver. This will be relative to the permitted mix of qualifying driver ratings.

i.e. For GT3 AM - If you have 2 Rookies setting times +1.5% quicker than the fastest Silver Driver The quickest time will be capped at 100.5% of the fastest Silver and the 2nd quickest at 100.5% of the fastest Bronze.

e.g.

2m00s000ms = Fastest Eligible Ranked Driver Time
1m58s199ms = Slowest Rookie Time that will be Capped.
2m00s600ms = Capped Time.

Sporting Regulations

- Following further analysis and feedback form multiple teams, Article 5.3h has been revised to +1%.

- Appendix F LAP DURATIONS has been updated with new tracks, and revised recovery times that always exceed 60kph Lap.

Driver & Driving Time Restrictions

- Minimum Driver Rating Requirements Lowered for DP and GTLM, as requested and approved by the Team Mangers.

- Addition of a PRO class to the VW FUN CUP. Original class becomes PRO-AM.

Driver Ratings

The following Drivers have been re-graded pre-season. Please note that some drivers have been moved down a ranking due to non-participation in the 2015 season to reflect the significantly larger pool of drivers used for assessment last year over 2014;

Sporting Regulations

- Clarification that a driver(s) of the same rating or lower may contribute to another driver's minimum time, in the event that that driver fails to meet the minimum driving time required.

- In addition, a Silver driver(s) may contribute to Bronze driver's time at a rate of 50%.

- For Example; GT3 AM (GTD), 24 Hours of Daytona. A Bronze driver only completes 1h00m. A silver driver must then complete his 3h00m, and then a further 6h00m to avoid penalty. 2 Silver drivers would need to complete a further 3h00m each or any equivalent mix that equals 6h00m. Penalty for Bronze driver falling 3h00m shot of minimum is 00h47m.

Technical Regulations

- Correction of typo that suggested Oil Change was permitted in DP.

Invitations to Silverstone 6 Hour & 25 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps

- The final 2 events on the VW Fun Cup calendar will operate on an invitational basis.
- The aim of this is to reward success, and to offer a consolidation to those teams who fail to make the grid in those events where not all cars in their class will qualify.
- If an invitation is not taken up by a team, or it has multiple invitations to one event, it may be passed onto another team, or opened up to public entry.

Series Announcement

Following a successful trial at the 3rd Annual GTPlanet London 12 Hour, a decision has been made by the Series Promoters to increase grid capacity to 14 Cars for all remaining Events this year, apart from the Fuji GT 500km.

This will result in not only an increase in competition on track, but also results in an increased proportion of Teams qualifying for each Event, and the addition of a small number of Part Season Franchises.

There will however be a reduction in a the intensity of Blue Flags that will be issued at the Events listed below;

- Bathurst 12 Hour
- 24 Hours Nurburgring
- 6 Hour Ruhr-Pokal-Rennen
- 1000km Suzuka

At these Events, Blue Flags may be issued in the following situations only;

- GT3 field about to Lap TCN classes for the first time at the start of a Race.
- Multiple GT3 Cars about to Lap a single TCN Car.
- Multiple GT3 Cars about to Lap multiple TCN Cars.
- Single GT3 Car about to Lap multiple TCN Cars.

It is recommended that all drivers race using a 1st person viewpoint that includes a rear-view mirror, and have proximity arrows switched on. Faster and slower Classes are also asked to take greater care when interacting.

Calendars & Schedules

- A significant number of changes have been made to the Season Calendar and Schedule, with many date changes and session times being moved.

- There are 2 cars available for the TCN-2 season, excluding 24 Hours Nurburgring.

- If you are an existing team interested in taking on one of these franchises, please contact me via your main TM thread.

Sporting Regulations Update

A significant number of updates and clarifications, as well as a new look. Very much worth a re-read, however here are the key changes;

- Extra Penalty Time if served in a Pit Stop Window.

- Additional 30s wait for GAs.

- Clarification on when Driving Time starts and ends.

- Limitation of Rolling Driving Time for Bronze Drivers (and Rookies in Bronze seats) to 3 hours in any 5 hour period.

- Clarification that Rookies have min and max Driving Times.

- In the Event of Mass Disconnection Timing & Scoring will always be rolled back to the latest Timing & Scoring update. (T&S updates now scheduled for every 30mins, so technically never more than 30mins of racing will be lost.)

- Removal of 'force majure' clause for missing the Chequered Flag.

- Revision of Post Race Penalty calculation.

- Driving Time tables moved to the appendices.

- Revised Penalty Guidelines.

Probation

The following Drivers have been placed on Probation for their next 2 Races and must show improvement in the areas detailed;

@AhmedAl - Displaying a general Lack of Car Control resulting in poor Driving Standards.
@CrazyJohn - Not displaying the minimum level of required understanding of the Sporting Regulations.

Notes on Procedures & Practices

- Please remember that laps to the Grid and the Parade Lap are deducted from the Driver in the car at the time's count.

- Everyone needs to leave bigger gaps between themselves and the car ahead under PC and SC.

- You should only be typing in the text box if you are; responding to Race Control, bringing something to the attention of Race Control, or under the Sporing Regulations (e.g. LHM, DC, GA).

- If you are asked, for example "ANYONE SEE LESS THAN 13 CARS ON TRACK?" And you reply, for example "I SEE 13 CARS" or "13", from now on you will receive a penalty. This clogs up the chat, and increases the time spent under SC or RED.

- If the lobby has had to be reset, when you are called back in, load to the Pit Lane as soon as possible.

- From now on the title of the Lobby will be prefixed with one of the following;

'O' or 'OPEN' - you are free to join.
'X' or 'CLOSED' - if you join whilst this message is displayed you will receive a penalty.
'F' or 'FORUM' - you may only join if your car number has been called on the Event Thread.
