GTP Super Touring Car Series

Hello everyone

First off, please go easy on me here. My parents recently split up, so I've only just got back on track here.

Anyway, I've been thinking about probably starting again with a new series here. I know I sort of went MIA with the last one, but that was my fault because of all that was going on. So apologies for that.

I thought I might try something to do with touring cars for this series. I don't have the PS2 because my dad has that at his place :lol: So, I'd need to do some testing and research as soon as I can borrow it. The format of the series would be like the LG World Touring Car Championship, with weight penalties and such. The cars I'm looking to include are as follows:

Audi S4 '03
BMW 330i '05
Honda Accord Euro-R '02
Jaguar S-Type R '02
Lexus IS200 '98
Mazda 6 5-Door '03
Opel/Vauxhall Vectra 3.2 V6 '03
Volkswagen Bora V6 4MOTION '01
Volvo S60 T5 Sport '03

I've still to sort out the tracks and also some rules so bare with me, but I will get these up as soon as I sort them out, ok?

We have a DTM series, a JGTC series, a Le Mans (multi class) series, an F1 series and a couple of others going/starting/getting set up, at the moment!

There are only a certain number of members of GTP who are interested in long race series and most of us have either committed to or are involved in the formation of a series/next season!

There is a thread or two about 'Why do race series fail?' and one of the reasons is that there are either too many of them or there are too many with the same theme.

Honestly not trying to p;ss on your fireworks here, but................?

Maybe have a look around and see what's going on/in the pipeline, before proposing a new series with many of the features/properties of the existing/developing/already proposed series.

Don't get me wrong here mate, I am not saying that it wouldn't work, or isn't a good idea....

Just that the timing could be better.

Wouldn't want you to go through all the work of trying to get a series up and running here, only for the take up to be poor and you get discouraged, never to try again.

Sorry to read your parents split. I hope you are over it.

Balls is spot on brother. Maybe when things slow down again you can start a series up. About your series though, I'm interested that you've included the S Type R. I never thought the S Type raced touring car. I know it races V8 Stars but, I thought that the LG World Touring Car Championship had to all be 2.0L at a maximum (see FIA Super 2000 regs). To get your Touring Car fix why not check out Race 2 of the three race Touring Car championsing I'm running in short race series.
