I don't know any specifics on this car, but yes I completely agree...it is utterly horrifying :yuck:

Its the same Chevrolet Aveo we've always had, with design bits and pieces that date back well into the early 2000s... Just with the nuvo Chevrolet brand facing placed on the front. I believe it was Consumer Reports that just published an absolutely scathing review of it this past month, otherwise deeming it "too little, too late, for too much money."

Its not a terrible car overall, but I can't think of many cars that I'd choose it over in the process. That, and for the price, there are some terrific used cars that you can pick up for less.

May God have mercy on the Aveo5 when the Fiesta shows up...

RE: What Makes "Worst Car"

There really isn't any actual criteria, and more or less, its subjective much like how the "Cool Wall" threads have been. I'm mainly looking to have a bit of fun for a few pages, showing off how terrible some of our newer cars have been in the past year or so, and of course, discussing them at length.

By no means is this meant to be as "scientific" (I laugh even as I type it) as the "Best Car" threads.

Oh I disagree. In fact there's only one new car that could possibly be worse.

Proton found it so difficult to find a positive review that they even went to the length of asking some random woman from Lowestoft, who said:

Sylvia Rodrigues from Lowestoft
It is a really lovely car; powerful, economical and so comfortable with seats that are higher than usual.

Well if that's not high praise then I don't know what is.

I keep thinking about this little bugger...

How they distorted the original ItalDesign look that much, I have no idea. Suzuki siblings, if we still had them, FTW.

I just can't help thinking why that badge isn't abit higher up.

They were trying to mimic the outstandingly beautiful Malibu:

My problem is that it's a fairly good looking car.

Agreed. I was surprised the first time I saw one because it actually looks okay, certainly an improvement on previous Protons. But it is supposed to be pretty awful.

Proton, once they started using exclusively local content = epic fail. Even in the very first press photos of the Gen.2, the interior looked starkly plastic... at least the cheap Chinese cars photograph well...

I still pine for an old 3-door Satria GT... the hatchback with the tuned 1.8 liter engine and the seam-welded chassis... but I digress... unlike Hyundai, which managed to make leaps and bounds in quality once weaned of their Mitsubishi roots, Proton is swimming in mediocrity... despite its good home- market sales due to government protectionism.
