2. Cars : Alpine A110 1600S '73 vs Toyota 2000GT '67 (NB : you'll may chose which one you'll compete with or even compete with both !)

IMPORTANT ! This is a "VS" challenge : only ONE laptime is needed for the points ranking system, which means that if you run both cars, both laptimes will be in the leaderboards but only one -the best- will be used for the points ranking !

----------------

3. Cars specifics:

- Transmission: either
- Tires: N3 / N3
- TCS : at your disposal
- ASM : off
- Active Steering : off
- Driving Physics : Professional

All in-game quick-tune options are at your disposal (Press Triangle when selecting your car to add the car to your favorites and tinker with any available settings).

Hybrid cars, the use of CFW tuning or any other way of cheating is forbidden..

--------------------

4. Duration of the challenges : this challenge will start Monday Jul 26th 4:00 pm GMT+2 and will end Monday Aug 2nd 3:59 pm GMT+2 (one week !)

--------------------

5. Time submission :

You'll have to post your Ghost Replay Data + Photo before Monday Aug 2nd 3:59 pm GMT+2. If you missed the deadline, your laptimes won't be in the website.

--------------------

6. Rules :

You'll have to follow the Host and Compete in a GT Planet Time Attack Challenge (GTPTAC) ! Just to remind you :
Clean or Dirty lap :
- Colliding with or using walls, fences, cones or other obstacle is forbidden. All times submitted must be 100% wall free.
- Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the tarmac which does not include all green/grassed/sanded/graveled areas.
Rumble/ripple strips :
- having two wheels/tires on a corner's inside rumble strips and two off track is considered unclean
- having two wheels/tires on a corner's outside rumble strips and two off track is considered clean.

--------------------

7. LeaderBoards

The leaderboards will be on the website

Nope ! And when you post your guess, could you please explain the reason why you chose this particular track ? Any link to the track hint for example... thanks ;) !

I Googled 'Gimli' and got hits pertaining to a J.R.R. Tolkien character that is a Dwarf.

Dwarfs are small in stature, so I'm assuming that this track is 'short' in some manner.

Cross-checking the TAC leaderboards with my 'short' theory yields a number of potential courses: Autumn Ring Mini (forward), Beginner Course (forward and reverse), Motorland (forward), Seoul Central (forward and reverse), Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway, and Twin Ring Motegi West Short Course.

I would assume that the Beginner Course and Seoul Central would be the most likely targets as they haven't be run in either direction.

My guess is Seoul Central.

That's a very good start Detroitbb and thanks to put some thoughts into it ! You missed something very helpfull :

Gimli is a fictional character from J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium, featured in The Lord of the Rings

:sly:

Autumn Ring Mini be my guess.

I guess after Detriotbb's detective work (good stuff Detriotbb, as I was stumped :D ) then I would say the next biggest clue would be 'fictional' character, so that would leave Autumn Ring Mini and Motorland being the most likely two left......but I'm no good at these things, so that'd be my guess. Heck, I initially thought it was gunna be a rally track lol

i want to join this time attack because the 2000gt is one of my favorite cars i just hope i will be able to have the time to do it however..

Finally got to share wit hsomeone, so now I can actually start doing these again. I'll have my division qualifier up soon.

here we are..

interesting combo. first i thouht toyota with no chance but.. after some labs i run 50.xxx with both cars! 👍

very different handling.

I did 10-12 laps per car and achieved a mid-49.xxx for both the Alpine and the Toyota. The hardest part for me is not moving the PSP's nub too far in any direction... or else the cars spin out!

This will be my first Tac. My psp memory was wiped out recently so I won't be able to compete in all challenges. First times are around 52 seconds with the alpine

I have managed to get a a time under 50 seconds in the Alpine A110 1600S '73.

0'49.721

But I did not manage to take a screenshot, for I do not have a camera on this vacation in Philadelphia, nor do I have FRAPS installed in my PSP 3000.

I kept passing days to get one of the two, but it took me over 20 days for one of these cars to appear in the showroom.

That's ok for now... the competition doesn't end until this coming Monday. The ghost replay data is the most important aspect followed by a photo of the Ghost Replay information screen (from the XMB).

Did you use the 'go into a race screen and back out' method? It's a bit of a pain in the ass, but at least you don't have to do a race/time trial to skip a day.

That is what I did. Good thing the loading does not take as long as the other GTs.
