GTP WTAC Week 82 : Late '60s Japan

*** The 1969 Isuzu Bellett GT-R is still considered one of the greatest Japanese cars ever released. The GT-R was the racing version of the high-performance Bellett GT. Even though it was meant to be a race car, it was still sold to the general public. One the other side of the coin, we have the 1968 Mazda Cosmo Sport. This futuristic auto was featured in the children's action show, 'Ultraman' (one of my favorites back in the mid-70s). This car, like the Isuzu Bellett GT-R, was raced internationally, but only once. The single event was the 'Marathon de la Route' at Nurburgring (an 84-hour event). Mazda chose this race to show the durability of the rotary engine. ***

I can't remember my current times, but they are around MRV's times (1'46 for the Mazda, 1'49 for the Isuzu). At first both times were at around 1'52 for both cars, but after heavy tuning I managed to shave a lot of seconds.

My 4 years old, 4GB memory stick just died a couple of days ago, but luckily a friend had one He didn't use and let me borrow it so I could use my backup files (Yes I learned my lesson the hard way:grumpy:) and post my final times in time.

The photos, I won't be able to post it now. Maybe tomorrow morning/later when I got everything working as before.

I'll grant you an exemption (like I did for Dan last week). I already watched your replay files and your submission is good and valid.

Good thing that you backed your GT PSP files up! That was very wise!

Both you and Dan both have suffered the 'dead memorystick' issue. That's one thing I haven't had yet - hopefully I won't suffer the same fate!

It's good to see you again, vaughan! We missed you!

👍

Congratulations to MVR08 for winning this racing session!

I got you a nice trophy, but some little kid ran off with it. A bystander happened to snap a photo of the thief in action as he made his hasty escape:
