GTP5 Suggestions.

If you are taking suggestions jordan...

i have a few. nothing major, just things i think would help a little.

-change member names back to verdana bold, put the profile link back under the posts.
-get rid of the jumbo 'report post to moderators' button... how often does that even get used (legitimately?).
-maybe add a 300ZX and a camaro or something to break up that euro-fest that's happening in the banner image.

that is all. everything looks great, love the marble-ish red bar-things.
 
My only suggestion is to remove the underline from the screenames (but still keep it as a profile link)... :)👍

(Yay! Now I don't have to type "thumbsup" each time! :D)

[edit]: Ah, I just realized that the lines above signatures gently fade away... very nice!
 
Maybe also make the Usernames a little smaller. Will you release this express reply. I will pay for it.
 
Hows about us Mods get an image deal like Jordan's one under his name so that we are seen as mods.

Also we need marquees!! Please?

I would also like to see post numbers in threads(like on GTP4, we had the blue underlined numbers in the top right corner of each post, I liked that cause I could see where I scroll to when I revisited the thread).

Make car logos smilies so we can use them in our sigs.

About that Flash thingy at the top, that needs to change. Hows about a voting system where cars are selected from each major region(US, UK, AUS, Japan, ect) and voted onto that space at the same time(like 1 from each region, you know, in the animation) for 1 week, then we pick new cars for the next week ect.

erm...that's about it, I love the new look, but there are a lot of forums on the main page...

I use the report to mod button a lot really.

Um, that's a lot of work though... every week, he'd have to find high-res images of the stated cars (already hard enough), then make a flash movie with them, load them up to the server, test them, then finally put them into the correct part of the page... I think it's okay as it is. :)

I love the new look, but there are a lot of forums on the main page...

Well, if you want fewer forums, we could always take out MA-- j/k ;)
 
just like you changing your username from ViperConcept to Concept so you would look less stupid? right.

i like mazkid's idea of a different rotation every week.
 
Damn, double post. How about an option of being able to delete your own posts, within a time limit or something similar though.
 
A diffirent rotation every week would be far too time consuming, it would get boring too. I think it's better to just have one, well tought through look. Instead of keeping to play with it, changing it every week...

I do, however, agree with you on changing the usernames to a (perhaps bold) Verdana size 10 or 11, without the underline. That would look a lot neater.

I like the Report To Moderators button, nice and threathening. :)
 
We use to be able to delete our own posts but then Jordan changed that, I would however like to see that be implemented again for double posts of course, they are an annoyance.

I remember that, and I believe Jordan changed that because there weren't any strings attached to it. Members would be able to just delete whatever post of theirs they wanted. I don't know if it's possible, but a 5 minute time limit would be great.
 
The name size is a bit big - I agree on that one!
Are the smilies on a backup server they took 5 minutes to load them all!
 
I noticed that in the GTP Forum's main page, at the very bottom where it says no new posts, no new posts, etc., the symbols are the same for a closed forum and no new posts.

Is it me? Or is GTP5 going brown on me? I'm really not sure, but it looked a lot whiter an hour ago on a laptop screen...
 
well then how about a monthly rotation? Possibly could go with the cars released in that month(like say the RX-8 is coming out in May, then in May, it is featured at the top there).

And, if you notice, MAZ isn't on the main page, it's a supforum, and I think that some of the other forums should be subforums too.

In my opinion, why even have a MAZ forum. You don't see like a Ford, Chevy, Dodge Forum.
 
That's because all of the Ford, Chevy, Dodge, and other clubs started here at GTP had nothing to offer but chat and pics.

And most of the club starters aren't knowlegable about what their club is about. I'm different.

Sorry, but if someone on here wants to start thier own club, if they make it as practical, helpful, and friendly as MAZ, I'm sure Jordan would be happy to add forums for them.

If not, then it's not my fault that 40 people are signed up at MAZ.
 
Ok, I have a few suggestions also. I agree with the fact that Usernames are way too big, and they should not be underlined. Next, bring back some of the smilies, 36 is not enough to pick from and I dont even use a third of the ones that there are to choose from. If they are brought back though, they should be put on several pages to reduce bandwidth use, because they would not all load at once. I haven't had a chance to get used to GTP5 yet though, so those are my suggestions for now.
 
Jon, Maz, Matt(your not included but you posted on the topic)

Both of you have your good arguments, MAZ, the forum, kinda useless but I say let Mazkid have his forum, he put a lot of work into it and he does offer people things that they dont have and since he offers them to the members of his club they dont have to go around on the net searching for them. All they have to do is ask Mazkid and he gives them to the people, not that big of a deal. It saves time and most people like to do things that save time.

Yea Zero, I save people time.

Ofcourse, that's because I'm bored to hell so I search the net, KaZaA, and all over for Mazda stuff. :)

Why don't more people start clubs like MAZ? Just think, enough major company clubs, and GTP would be the home of a lot of automotive news, multimedia, and other info. I think it would be exellent.

I've done my part though.
