You need a separate account.

You will have to make a new account, unlike Xbox -.- and that means you will need to send the car to your new account as Game Save Sharing doent work on GT5

I'm in the same boat....I would love to take part in some of these events but I play under my own account that doesn't start with GTP_ and I dont want to bother with setting up a new account and have the hassle keep trading cars back and forth just so I can take part.

I don't see a reason for the restriction in usernames......some people just want to race under their existing account.

I imagine the reasoning behind it is making it look more official, but I completely agree with you. I don't give a hoot what people's user names are as long as the racing is proper.

The only place where you are asked to have the GTP tag is for the official weekly series, or whatever. I've never actually taken part in that. For all of the other racing series/clubs/leagues, you don't need the GTP_ tag.

Just start a new account. It's easy enough to earn lots of credits even on a new game with the seasonals and remote b-spec racing. I've been taking part in the WRS on and off for a few months now and have yet to send any cars to it from my main account. I think it's got 15M credits sitting in it right now, and that was after having to spend 10M on a car for the WRS a couple months back.

This is correct. I have done this and submitted my times. Just waiting to hear back from them which takes 2 to 4 weeks from what I've read. I should be hearing back from them soon.

Its not at all. Took me just a few hours for me to get some good times on the sectors required and submit those times. Just waiting now. I actually look forward to this and improving my driving/racing skills and racing with people in my same classifacation.

Its not... and its rather fun too... Plus you get a second account and anything they ask you to do you can easily do with nothing special. VERY rarely do they require cars you cant easily get.

The hardest part if you want to call it that is leveling up to do the test. But as they say, Seasonal Events will do it in no time.

Also with 2 accounts you can rip tickets, store an extra 2000 cars, duplicate paints, get more tickets from the races, more car colors from the Licenses... The list goes on. I also used it to do the licenses all with my wheel and not with my DS3 controller, so I had a reason to use my wheel and get used to it (though I still use the DS3 more)

I only use my main account unless something requires the GTP_ tagged account 👍

I meant just starting a GTP_ tagged account on the PS3. I had mine created a couple of months before I even submitted my qualifier for the WRS.

Don't create a second account on www.gtplanet.net, as I'm sure that'll get you in some trouble.
